google calendar makes duplicate events on O365

I have a basic Google event to O365 flow. It was working just fine for a couple weeks. A few days ago I started seeing multiple events in my Outlook calendar. These are 4 o 5 duplicated events for the original Google Calendar event.

I was using a Zapier Zap for this before, but we just migrated to Office 365 and I found the Flow functionality.

Can anyone help me figure this out?

Hi,

Could you please share the flow id? When you click on the flow from the "My Flows" list, the url would be something like this-

https://flow.microsoft.com/manage/environments/Default-72f988bf-86f1-41af-91ab-2d7cd011db47/flows/4a3aa3d7-abaa-491f-b7ff-0ad3001e9665

Please share the highlighted part of the url.

I think you are looking for this:

Hi

The flow is generating duplicate events in Outlook and Google calendars per below. +50 duplicate events are created each time.

The solution = ??

I never found a reason for my problem.

My 1st solution was to make it again.

That did not correct anything.

My 2nd solution was to turn it off and go back to my Zapier Zap which works just fine.

I really wanted the flow to work.

I am looking for a solution to the same problem.

I set up a Google calendar to O365 flow using the standard template with no amendments and also an O365 to Google calendar flow (again, using the standard template with no aamendments) and I now have 1000+ events in both calendars. Desperately seeking a solution please.

My solution was to turn off the Flow and return to using the Zap on Zapier.com. It has never created multiple duplicates. I have the original on the Google Calendar and the Outlook Calendar entry created by the Zap.

No muss, no fuss.

The main reason I need both calendars is that I use youcanbook.me as a sign-up scheduling tool for appointments and it ties into the Google Calendar.

Thanks for confirming. I can't find Outlook Calendar (or any variation of) available as an App on Zapier. Can you please advise if it is called something else?

Hi @charlieroach, @mminnich - this behaviour isn't expected and we're investigating further. If you have hit this recently and have a Flow ID you could share, please send me a direct message to help us investigate.

I am not sure if this is what you need when you ask for a Flow ID: ...../flows/0803c0ec-745f-4ff7-abb3-350ddc3e201e/details

Please confirm. Thanks.

I had this same issue. Duplicate calander appointments going from Office 365 / outlook to my gmail calander. The problem was that I also had the Gmail ---> office 365/outlook flow as well.

When I created an appoinment in outlook, it would sync to gmail and then sync back to outlook. Office/outlook was smart enough not to update my work calander with a duplicate but the flow updated gmail a second time, resulting in a duplicate.

I simply disabled the synce from gmail to outlook, which worked fine for me, and fixed the issue.

There may be some conditional statments you can put in to handle this situation better, but I didn't look any further.

Duplicate events appearing in your Outlook calendar from Google Calendar via a flow in Office 365 can occur due to various reasons. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

  1. Check Flow Configuration: Review your flow configuration in Office 365 to ensure that it is set up correctly. Make sure that there are no loops or errors in the flow that could be causing multiple events to be created.

  2. Check Trigger Conditions: Verify the trigger conditions in your flow. Ensure that the trigger is set up to detect new events in Google Calendar accurately and that it's not triggering multiple times for the same event.

  3. Review Zapier Zap Configuration (if applicable): If you were using Zapier before and now switched to Office 365 Flow, make sure that the configuration in Flow replicates what was working correctly in Zapier. Double-check any mappings or settings related to event creation and synchronization.

  4. Check for Interference from Other Apps or Services: Investigate if there are any other apps or services connected to your Google Calendar or Outlook calendar that might be interfering with the synchronization process. Sometimes, third-party apps can cause conflicts resulting in duplicate events.

  5. Review Calendar Permissions: Ensure that the calendar permissions in both Google Calendar and Outlook are configured correctly. Improper permissions could lead to synchronization issues.

  6. Monitor Event Creation: Keep an eye on the events being created in both Google Calendar and Outlook. Note any patterns or specific events that consistently result in duplicates. This information can help pinpoint the cause of the issue.

  7. Contact Support: If the issue persists and you're unable to resolve it on your own, consider reaching out to the support teams for both Office 365 and Google Calendar. They may be able to provide further assistance or insights into the problem.

By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and resolve the issue of duplicate events appearing in your Outlook calendar from Google Calendar via Office 365 Flow.
