suppose I have 3 columns.. name, age, salary. and a 4th column audit log. If someone changes name and age. It should show in the audit column, "Jake" has been modified to "Jake Peralta" by xyz. Age 22 has been changed to 23. Like this.

I used this Get List Item Changes Notifications Using Power Automate (office365notes.com) but it is sending mail. I want it in sharepoint list.

@joyee  so have you already created the flow with when item or file is modified trigger and added Get Changes action? To get the previous value of column i think you will need to get the previous version of item using REST API in Send HTTP Request to SharePoint action. Initialize one string variable, You will need to put condition action for checking if each of the column values have changed, in yes branch of condition, append string to the variable with the current and previous value of column

Below is example of getting version history. Replace Expense Approval with your list name. Replace 2.0 version label with the previous version label from trigger dynamic value.

@joyee  what is the data type of Audit column, to display HTML value in column you need multiline text column with Use enhanced rich text property enabled for the column.

@joyee it looks like that audit column value is also getting processed as part of the HTML? Can you please check if that is the case? Also do you have any other rich text column in the list?

Anna Jhaveri

yes inside the html text, the column value is also there. But I don't need the html part... just the values..and no that is the only rich text column in the list..could you run the flow and check once..The issue is still persisting for me

@joyee  do you need updates to Audit column also recorded? because it would end up having same values, I think you need to add condition in your flow that if Audit column has changed, then it doesnt need to process the flow further, example below:

If I give condition then I need to give it for all the columns being there right? Like if there are 50 columns I need to add all in there right? and how do I populate the result in the columns?

@joyee  no, so your flow does not need to run when you update the audit column in your flow. E.g. if you have change two column values and then your flow runs and the flow updates the html in the audit column, now again flow will trigger as audit column has updated, but this time i think you dont need to process the flow to update audit column value, that is why i am asking to put condition to check if audit column has updated or not.
