I have a model driven app. I want to show related Contacts (added the existing table) to my Assessment Event in a subgrid, just like I can do from a standard table. Why isn't this an option?
I have a relationship in place on the Assessment table
And you can see it's a 1:many on the Contact Table
The app has been published.
If this isn't an option, how could you display the multiple ActivityParty records that I've been populating in the Required, Optional, etc... fields?
The relation that you showing is the opposite. That relationship can be used to display grid of Assessments on the Contact form that have the current contact in "Assessment"'s RegardingId field.
If you want to show contacts related to the current Assessment - you will have to choose "Activity Parties (Activity)" from the dropdown shown on the first screenshot and compose a view with "ObjectId" field on it.
I updated the form and sub-grid to set the stage for the next step.
But when I click on the "New Activity Party" I get this error message.
This implies I need a form but that doesn't appear to be in the options? Since the +New Form is greyed out, the only option is to Add existing form, but there aren't any there?
When to the Activities Table (which was the system-built table out of the box).
Added the view "All Activities" to my solution.
When trying to modify it to add the ObjectID field, I'm coming up short.
I don't see that option on either the Activity Type filters or on the fields on the left panel. Can you be more explicit in where I'm supposed do the work?
ActivityParty is a system table and as mentioned in the error - you won't be able to create records in an easy way for it.
I believe the whole design might be not legit to serve your scenario. Let's start from the very beginning - can you provide whole scenario (with no technical aspects like like forms, views, relationships and so on) and if I see the solution I will share it.
The app is built around conducting a detailed safety and security inspection of a facility.
I'd like to document the people that we've interacted with for that specific assessment event (facility manager, staff, external parties such as police and fire individuals).
Currently the Inspections are in an Activity table and the Contacts is using the out of the box table.
