Cannot view execution details for data integration project

We have been very successful writing Power Queries and mapping data into CDS using data integration projects created via https://web.powerapps.com. 

 

The effort required has been several orders of magnitude less than what was required to implement equivalent functionality using SSIS and we are excited about the potential of retiring our SSIS runtime environments and reducing time to value and operating cost.

 

Only thing standing in our way from moving forward at the moment is our current inability to monitor and troubleshoot refresh issues.

 

Although we have proven we can reliably execute both manual and scheduled refreshes, we are only able to somewhat monitor a manual refresh.

 

If we attempt to use the Show refresh history command for a given project, we are brought to the new https://admin.powerapps.com site and see the message "You don't have any projects yet."

 

During a scheduled refresh, if an error or warning occurs, we do get an informative summary e-mail however when we click on the link to view the execution details we are again brought to the https://admin.powerapps.com site and this time an error message such as the following is displayed:

 

Unable to get executions for project:'D2E-38504021-7c0e-4f68-8b5c-a7d9abf949d0'.Please check if project:'D2E-38504021-7c0e-4f68-8b5c-a7d9abf949d0' exist. Session id: 8ea69576-0c38-4d92-9016-50a7a9044f29

 

If it is relevant, we are located in Canada and we are currently testing in a test environment which is backing our Dyanmics CRM Sandbox instance.

Could you please share more details about the error message within your app?

I have made a test on my side, and don't have the issue that you mentioned. The screenshot as below:8.JPGPlease check if the corresponding project has been removed from your Data integration part.

In addition, please also take a try to clear cache of your browser, then try it again to check if the issue is solved.

Thanks for the reply Kris. I have cleared the browser cache as you suggested however it has not resolved the issue. I have attached some screenshots below to provide additional clarity.

 

We are starting in Edge browser at https://web.powerapps.com/ (note, we are NOT creating the Data integration project from https://admin.powerapps.com). See 1.PNG attached.

 

We create a project at https://web.powerapps.com/ and afterwards we checked to see if a new project was also created at the https://admin.powerapps.com location. No projects appeared here.

 

After initiaiting and completing a successful refresh from https://web.powerapps.com/ location, we try to view the associated refresh history by clicking on the Show refresh history button. See 2.PNG attached.

 

After clicking this command, the browser attempts to open the associated execution history from this location:

 

https://admin.powerapps.com/dataintegration/projects/D2E-b63a77a2-7060-4fcc-8942-6004b95ac174/executionhistory

 

The browser eventually fails to resolve the above URL and returns us to https://admin.powerapps.com/dataintegration/projects where there are no projects listed. See 3.PNG

I have the same issue when my environment is Asia.

 

When the environment is US, the histories showed up normally.

hi, support team, I have the same issue. When my environment region is US, there is no such issue. The issue happens when my environment region is in Asia. 

We have been working through MS support and they are advising us the issue is due to a region mismatch between our Office 365 tenant (Canada) and our CDS environments (US). 

 

We have confirmed we can create a new CDS environment in Canada region and all features work as expected.

 

We are now in the process of migrating our US CDS environments to Canada which we expect to resolve the issue for us.

Hi @cwallace,

 

Could you recommand the technical support person to me? 

I raised support ticket previously, but ironically the Microsoft PowerApps support person I talked to don't even have PowerApps P2 license. That support person wasn't even familar with the PowerApps website.

I am not sure how you engaged MS support for this, but I recommend you raise the support ticket through the correct admin center, currently located at:

 

https://admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com/

 

This should route your request to the right team and individual.

 

Next, if you are contemplating moving your environments around, you may need to do what we did and also place a request to enable multi-geo tenancy. Without this enabled, you will not be able to copy an environment across different regions. For example, we could not copy our environment from the US to Canada without this feature enabled.

I raised a ticket in the admin center too, but the support person I encountered was an amature, he resides in India office, he probably don't know how to create environment and integration projects.

Summer of Solutions | Week 4 Results | Winners will be posted on July 24th

We are excited to announce the Summer of Solutions Challenge!   This challenge is kicking off on Monday, June 17th and will run for (4) weeks.  The challenge is open to all Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio & Power Pages) community members. We invite you to participate in a quest to provide solutions in the Forums to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.    Entry Period: This Challenge will consist of four weekly Entry Periods as follows (each an “Entry Period”)   - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 17, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 23, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 24, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 30, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 1, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 7, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 8, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 14, 2024   Entries will be eligible for the Entry Period in which they are received and will not carryover to subsequent weekly entry periods.  You must enter into each weekly Entry Period separately.   How to Enter: We invite you to participate in a quest to provide "Accepted Solutions" to as many questions as you can.
