Dataflows missing from list (but still exist and run)

Hi!

I have a few dataflows that are set to run automatically. After changing the refresh settings for a couple of them, I have noticed that they are no longer visible in my Power Apps Dataflows listing. I have not made any other changes to them, and this hasn't happened before.

The flow is V1 (currently unable to move them to V2) and it still exists and is running. I have accessed the Data Integration link https://admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com/ext/dataintegration/project/{dataflow_id} and I can view the dataflow information and run history.

Thanks in advance for any tips or ideas on how to fix this!

Hi @AnthonyAmador did you find a solution for this issue? I also have a Dataflow that I cannot find anywhere in Power Platform. I would create a support request but I don't have a role that allows me to.

Hi @Anonymous try adding the dataflow to a solution (you should be able to select it there), export the solution, delete the solution you created, and import the solution back into the environment, please let me know if that works.

Cheers.

Thanks @AnthonyAmador I've tried that but it hasn't worked. I still cannot see the Dataflow in the Dataflows page of the Dataverse section of Power Apps. It is visible within the solution, but I cannot edit it from there, I understand this is a known limitation. However, combined with this bug affecting the visibility of solution-aware dataflows outside the solution leads to this situation of uneditable dataflows.

I had a similar challenge when I imported a solution with dataflows to the target env. These dataflows were then automatically copied by the system from the solution to the Dataverse>Dataflow section where I could edit them. However, after import I decided to do some changes of the dataflows in the source environment.

For this reason:

- I deleted in the target env all the imported dataflows together with the imported solution

- made the changes of the dataflows in the source env

- re-exported the revised solution from the source env, and finally

- imported again to the target env.

As a result, the dataflows DID NOT RE-APPEAR in the Dataverse>Dataflow section as expected. The dataflow were however present in the imported solution. Multiple "Publishing" of both solution and dataflows did not help either.

I guess after I deleted the dataflows, their GUID still remained present in the system and therefore when adding dataflows with the same GUID they were not added to the Dataverse>Dataflow section.

It took me some time to dig but finally I found a fix.

In the "Admin center":

- go to "Environments>YOUR ENV>Settings>Data management>Bulk deletion"

- click New

- choose "Dataflows" in the dropdown + "Active" in the "Use Saved View", click preview

In my case there were present the dafaflows from the solution, which I deleted.

NB: This deleted both the dataflows from the solution and GUID records from the system (I assume).

After I deleted the solution and re-imported again, and the dataflows were back in the Dataverse>Dataflow as expected.

Hope this information may help.

Thank you @AndrewElans this really saved me. I had a dataflow which the client decided they no longer wanted to use, but it was set up to sync to a table nightly and every night it would overwrite their changes. I thought deleting the dataflow would stop it, but it was still running and I couldn't find it anywhere. Finally I used the Bulk Delete option you suggested and was able to find and delete it. Thanks again!!

This post is a heroic deed.

Thank you @AndrewElans ! This addressed the issue of not seeing Dataflows after an import to a higher environment.

Thanks for this solution. It's very useful.

It would be good to know what sets the visibility of dataflows in the user interface since there's nothing in the standard Dataflow table which seems to correlate with visibility.

I know it's 18 months since you posted this but... do you have any idea?

Thanks.
