Default forms and views not created

In the last few days when creating a new table no default views or forms are created. Previously once a table was created there would be three 'Information' forms and several views created automatically. Has something changed or is this an issue?

I don't know if this works for anyone else, but I've found the following process works in the modern experience.

Essentially you create a table, then removes it from the solution only, then add it back in from the environment.  I found this works as the forms and views were being created in the default solution but not coming into my solution.

With the Tables object selected in the Solution:

  1. Click 'New' in the command bar, select 'Table', then select 'Table'.
  2. Create the table as normal.
  3. Select the newly created table in the Tables list, click the three dots to the left of the Name column, select 'Remove', then select 'Remove from this solution' (not Delete from this environment).
  4. Now add the table back in by clicking 'Add existing' in the command bar and select 'Table'.
  5. Search for the table that you created, then click 'Next'.
  6. Make sure you check 'Include all objects' (this will bring the command bar, forms and views with the table).
  7. Click 'Add'

Hopefully this works for others as it has for me.

Having the same issue...  Tried using make.preview.powerapps.com also and same problem.

Luckily we have the classic editor, but in my case it created duplicates of all of the standard Forms, and triplicates of all Views!!

Something really screwed up in the backend.

I had the issue of duplicates happen as well. It is a pain as the duplicate views are 'system' views that can't be deleted so the table has to be deleted and recreated.

The working theory I have is that there is an async process running in the background that is creating the forms and views which sometimes is taking a long time to complete and sometimes it is not completing at all. Deleting and recreating the same table when there are no forms and views may result in duplicates due to the process eventually running for the deleted instance.

Anyway, I have managed to get the tables I need for my project created using the modern UI using the following steps

  • Create the table
  • Wait for the forms and views to appear
  • If after 20 mins the forms and views are not there delete the table and try again.

Thanks all for adding info on this.

After recreating the table using classic mode, I realized I had 3 copies of Forms and Views.  Then I read the reddit article which mentions failed system jobs, so I think I got 3 copies because I tried creating the table a total of 3 times (twice using new make portal, and once using classic mode) and when it successfully processed the 3rd time in classic mode it caused the previously failed system jobs to rerun, creating the triplicates.

I deleted my table a third time, and recreated it using classic mode again, and now it appears it has been created correctly with the proper forms and views.

Thanks to everyone for the tips.

It helped me raising a ticket with Microsoft - they mentioned that some ORGS had their FCB disabled.

They provided me with a workaround to check/rerun the post-processing steps, if it fails, as follows:

For pre-existing entities with forms not generated go to settings > system> system jobs and resume failed job for

plugin PostCreateEntityUIProcessPlugin  and this should regenerate the view for custom entities.

Please refer: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-apps/developer/data-platform/asynchronous-service

Hope this helps anyone still having the issue - but I recommend raising a ticket so they can get a permanent fix in place.

Thanks for the info.  I just created a test table using the Make portal, and the issue now seems to be resolved.  Maybe Microsoft has pushed out a proactive fix for this (fingers crossed).

has any progress been made on this? Its a bit crazy that the new feature makes it impossible to create forms and views. I raised a ticket and got no where

I think it is one of the wonders of distributed cloud services - I assume there are several hosts running different versions all over, and that's why some are are affected and others are not.

I do not think the issue is solved for everyone yet - it seems that it is an error that comes and goes.

Did you try kicking to the post-processing task, to see if that works?

It does not work for me
