Finance and Operations tables in Dataverse

Hi,

We have recently purchased a Microsoft Fabrics service which we'll be using as our data platform throughout our organization.
Previously, we integrated our Finance and Operations data with the BYOD concept to an Azure SQL which we used as a Data warehouse, however we would like to setup and integrate our F&O data with our Microsoft Fabrics.

According to Microsoft documentation, this should be possible to do through Power platform.
Currently, our Finance and Operations environment is linked to a Power platform environment through Lifecycle Services, which has Dataverse enabled.
However we're not able to see our Finance and Operations tables under the make.powerapps.com => Tables menu.
Our goal is to do this without enabling Dual-Write, since there's no need to dual-write for our case.

We've looked through the official Microsoft documentation for this but are not able to find the issue.

The configuration in LifeCycle Services is according to Microsoft Documentation for linking Finance and Operations with Power Platform.
My security role in the environment is Dataverse System Administrator, and I'm able to see other tables which are not Finance and Ops.

Any help or guidance on why we cannot see the Finance and Operations tables in our Dataverse would be much appreciated!

Have you switched your view to "All"? you might see the tables there.

Additionally you should be able to create a connection directly to Fabric via a Virtual Table if you need to:

Be sure to also link your environment to Fabric via Analyze -> Link to Fabric

Yes, I switched to "All".

For the sake of testing, I linked the Dataverse environment to Fabric using Analyze => Link to Fabric and had a look at the Synpase Link it created. To my surprise, it exports all tables by default (Doesn't seem like this is an option even?), and no Finance and Operations tables were included in my Lakehouse.
I did a manual search for some of the tables directly in the Dataverse, and found none.

I also read Microsoft Documentation on using an existing Synapse Link to Link to Fabric, but my interpretation of it is that it only works if I currently have an Analytics workspace with a Spark pool for conversation to Delta Parquet enabled. And it feels extremely redundant to use both Analytics and Fabric to achieve something which should work out of the box.

Could you verify which Name that Finance and Operation tables have in your Dataverse? Is it the "msdyn_" ones?

Thanks in advance

EDIT:
Have not setup any Virtual Tables and I have not read the official documentation of their purpose, my understanding is that Finance and Operation tables should be present in the Dataverse if the environments are connected through LCS without having to create Virtual Tables. And that Virtual Tables primarily are used for customized columns and/or entities from F&O. Perhaps I misunderstood their purpose?

Just to be sure, you're in the correct environment that is integrated with F&O right? It should be the one that has a URL like in this link:

Absolutely positive it's the correct environment.
Have double checked both from the Power platform side and from the LCS side, identifiers match.

Furthermore, I'm able to reach my Finance and Operations tables if I create an Azure synapse link to an external ADLS "the old way".

Hi HMSNemanja, did you get this to work? I'm having the same issue.

Hi AndersMellis,

Well, it depends on the definition of "work" I guess.

I was not able to configure it according to my original description (edit: Despite having configured all platforms according to their official documentation), which was communicated by Microsoft under a demo we had with them.
I'm currently having a support case with them on this topic, the support case will include both Dataverse Engineers, Fabric Engineers and a Finance and Operations support specialist.

We have so far not made any concrete progress in the support case, but I will keep this post updated when I get more information.

I did however find two workaround solutions which you could implement, based on your exact requirements.

What's the frequency requirement for data load to Fabric that you have?

Also, if you create an Azure Synapse Link, are you able to visibly see "D365 Finance and Operations" in the connection, and select tables from there?

I'll write both workarounds once you answer the question (Just want to know where to begin my description).

Hello HMSNemanja,

Tuning in as I'm encountering the exact same situation where we created a Fabric link according to MS documentation but weren't able to get the raw F&O tables in (DIRPARTYTABLE, INVENTTABLE, etc.). All other dynamics tables are perfectly available in Fabric. In my case, data load frequency would ideally be daily.

Looking forward to your solution!

Hello SpaceAnalytics,

Are you able to see your raw F&O tables if you directly create a Azure Synapse link to a datalake outside your Fabric capacity?

Our frequency is 30 minutes.

We manage to see the FnO tables when click Azure Synapse Link and the click the Microsoft OneLake link that had apparently gotten created. (A bit confusing all this)

In that link, the FnO was found. However, I'm not sure if this is correctly set up. Loading the tables view in the above link takes a long time. But even more concerning, getting data to sync to Fabric takes between 2 hours and two days.

Good know is that I'm using an F2 capacity in Fabric so I understand that the performance is probably not the best, but syncing one row from FnO should not takes this long anyway.
