MS Dataverse / Oakdale in MS Team - Filtering Issue

Hello Team,

First of all, I'm a newbie on Oakdale / Dataverse in MS Team. I tried to create an Project Tracker app for our team and i was able to do it but i am having issue with Sorting / Filtering my gallery. Below is my gallery. My Gallery Name is (Gallery2_1).

The code in this item property of this gallery is :

SortByColumns(Filter(tblProjectTrackers, StartsWith(Text('Assigned To'), txtsearch_1.Value)), "createdon", Descending)

tblProjectTrackers - is my table

txtsearch_1 - is a textbox that will filter a name of assigned to.

What i am having issue is HOW TO FILTER this gallery. I need to create 2 (two)  Combo box above this gallery that will sort the Project Status of "Not Started", "Pending", "Completed".  like the image below and the other one is filter by Improvement "Value", "Multiple", "Maintenance", "Depth". So the image is like this

I am not able to do it correctly. Please help

Hi @echodapogi,

If I understand correctly, the 2 combo boxes are to select the filter criteria and the filter buttons are to apply the filtering? If so, here's what the expression (untested) should look like. Apologies it is a long, complex expression...

Pseudocode: if both project status and improvement are selected then filter/lookup by both these values, if only one of them is selected them filter by the respective one otherwise return all

SortByColumns(
If(Not(IsEmpty(projectstatuscombo.Selected)), If(Not(IsEmpty(improvementcombo.Selected)),
LookUp(tblProjectTrackers, ProjectStatusFieldName = projectstatuscombo.Selected.Value && ImprovementFieldName = improvementcombo.Selected.Value),
LookUp(tblProjectTrackers, ProjectStatusFieldName = projectstatuscombo.Selected.Value)),
 If(Not(IsEmpty(improvementcombo.Selected)), LookUp(tblProjectTrackers, ImprovementFieldName = improvementcombo.Selected.Value), tblProjectTrackers)
, "createdon", Descending)

 Hope this helps!

Hi @EricRegnier , Thank you for your reply on my issue. Unfortunately I'm still unable to make it work

there is a bunch of error on the code, i replaced the field value of the actual field names. I tried to debug it but no luck. Maybe there is something wrong on how i designed my table in CDS. again im fairly new on this.

Eric, if you can help me just to show the data in gallery with the most recent date ("createdon") sorted by Project Status.... that will be very helpful.  i will just make it easier for you if you can. the goal is just to load the most recent data with sorted project status. help please. Thanks in advance.

By "data in gallery with the most recent date ("createdon") sorted by Project Status" you mean data sorted by first createdon and then "Project Status". If so, here's the expression 🙂

SortByColumns(Projects, "Created On", SortOrder.Descending, "ProjectStatus", Ascending)

Note: the Display Name of the Dataverse entity/table field/column is the column name that should go between the quotes. In your screenshot ProjectStatus has not space between the words but Created On does.

Hope this helps!
