New table in Dataverse - AADUser

Hey everyone, you may have noticed a new table is available in Dataverse: "AAD User" This is a virtual table that is included in all versions of Dataverse. It connects to the AAD for the tenant the Dataverse organization is created in. You can use it to easily find people in AAD and retrieve additional details about them as well like location, job position, email and more.

Any news on a timeline for custom attributes or extension attributes from AAD or AD Connect to on-prem?

There is no plan for custom attribute support, we do not have a timeline for supporting other existing AAD attributes yet but that feature will be in review shortly to see if it can be accomplished in the near future. 

 

There is currently no plans for an on premise update to include this feature.

Hi,

Which Security Role needs to be given to another user in order for them to see the AADUser records?

I have given them Basic User & Dataverse Search Role but they still cannot view the data.

Out of the box, neither of those includes read access to AAD user. I believe the lowest default level is System Customizer. Or you can modify the roles to allow read to AAD. I will add this to the documentation.

How do I need to modify the roles? What change do I need to make?

I have a user who is set as System Customizer but is unable to search the AAD records with an error saying 0x80040265 Business Process Error.

Also you cannot filter by this field in Model driven apps.  It crashes.

Anyone know how to resolve this? I have a lookup column which looks in AADUSER (now called Microsoft Entra ID). My regular users are able to search in power app main form. But guest users are not able to search in lookup field. it shows 0x80040265 Business Process Error.

We have the same issue with this lookup field. For some it works and for others it dont. If we open a guest browser profile in Edge (the browser where the field doesnt work on the personal profile) we have been able, to make it work. But we cant seem to find a pattern in where it goes wrong. Some dont get the error and others do, and it is not dependent on the browser either. Has anyone found a solution? 

I had this issue 2 times:

- 1ste time it solved the issue for me when i logged out, closed the browser, logged in as a different user, created a new record with the lookup column, logged back out and back in with my user. 2de time, this didn't work anymore.

- 2de time the solution was to clear browser history.

 

I'm curious to see what will be the solution next time it happens 🤦‍🤦‍

Summer of Solutions | Week 4 Results | Winners will be posted on July 24th

We are excited to announce the Summer of Solutions Challenge!   This challenge is kicking off on Monday, June 17th and will run for (4) weeks.  The challenge is open to all Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio & Power Pages) community members. We invite you to participate in a quest to provide solutions in the Forums to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.    Entry Period: This Challenge will consist of four weekly Entry Periods as follows (each an “Entry Period”)   - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 17, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 23, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 24, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 30, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 1, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 7, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 8, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 14, 2024   Entries will be eligible for the Entry Period in which they are received and will not carryover to subsequent weekly entry periods.  You must enter into each weekly Entry Period separately.   How to Enter: We invite you to participate in a quest to provide "Accepted Solutions" to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities. Users must provide a solution which can be an “Accepted Solution” in the Forums in all of the communities and there are no limits to the number of “Accepted Solutions” that a member can provide for entries in this challenge, but each entry must be substantially unique and different.    Winner Selection and Prizes: At the end of each week, we will list the top ten (10) Community users which will consist of: 5 Community Members & 5 Super Users and they will advance to the final drawing. We will post each week in the News & Announcements the top 10 Solution providers.  At the end of the challenge, we will add all of the top 10 weekly names and enter them into a random drawing.  Then we will randomly select ten (10) winners (5 Community Members & 5 Super Users) from among all eligible entrants received across all weekly Entry Periods to receive the prize listed below.
