Owning Team: trying to enable users to change owning team for records in Dynamics / Dataverse

Hi. I'm trying to manage the visibility of records in data verse accessed by guest users via a canvas app. I'm able to change owning business unit but not owning team for some reason. 

Scenario: there will be multiple records assigned to a business unit, I'd like some users to be able to access all records within the unit but some to only have access to a subset. I thought I'd be able to do this by having multiple teams under a business unit and assigning the relevant records to these teams, and then assigning users to either one or multiple teams.

I felt like that was pretty standard but whilst I can add a form field to change the owning business unit I'm unable to make the owning team searchable or editable at all, options are all greyed out.

Can anyone suggest what I might need to do, or whether I'm trying to achieve the result in a daft way... I'm pretty new to Power Platform.

Hi @Nick_Daniels,

You just need to set the Owner column. If the owner is a team, then the Owning Team gets set automatically behind the scenes. You can't update it directly. If it's a user, then the Owning User gets set which is also not editable directly. Owning Business Unit also used to not be editable until they recently introduced the feature to allow a different business unit own the record than the unit that the Owning user/team is in.

Hi @ChrisPiasecki , How to set owner as a team, when i create a record i see only my name as a owner.. I have created a team and I am part of a team also in my table settings Record ownership is "user or team"

@BHaskeKumar in the lookup control on the UI you need to switch the record type to Team. By default it shows Users.

Dear @ChrisPiasecki , Many thansk I am not aware of the "lookup control on the UI you need to switch the record type to Team", may be its in the forms.
I am using inline editing wih editable grids.
I am able to change the ownership of a record by powerautomate ... as there is no other way to change this for all records in my table manually.
