Problemas con el campo de búsqueda y el conector CDS

Tengo una CanvasApp de prueba sencilla, donde traigo una entidad (Llamada de Telefono) con algunos datos incluyendo un campo de búsqueda. 

El problema es que no se puede hacer submit al formulario si el campo de búsqueda esta vacio, tampoco se puede hacer ni patch ni Update, con el campo de búsqueda vacío pues da el siguiente error:

Esto sucede desde que tengo activa la opción "improve data source experience and common data service views", que ya viene activa por defecto cuando creas una nueva CanvasApp

 

¿Alguien me puede comentar que pasa?

Hi @Yruiz ,

Do you mean that you can not update with blank value successfully?

If so, please turn this setting on:

 If you turn this setting on, your blank value will be updated successfully.

By default this setting is off, then when you update, powerapps will check whether your data type meet the data type in the data source.Blank value is not qualified. So you could not update it in your issue.

I have this option active and it keeps giving me the same error:

if we were talking about an application in production, i think it wold not be good practice to activate an option that is marked as "Experimental".

 

So, is it in current error that have the CDS connector?

I've made a similar test and not met the same problem.

Even I turn that setting on, I could update CDS with blank value successfully and not met the error message as yours.

So I think this problem should not be about this setting.

Please check your connection.

Try to refresh or recreate connection. 

If the problem still exists, please check your formulas about updating, which will lead to this problem too.

Hello and happy holidays,

 

I have seen in your example, that your form does not have any search type field (lookup), it is with the only types that give error, the custom lookup.

 

However i created a new canvas:

I have activated the corresponding option:

I have added as a data source to the entity "Llamadas de teléfono" of my CDS:

Add an edit form connect it to my data source, and add my custom lookup field. In the items i put the first call:

Additionally i add a button, and in the onselect i put the submit formula:

Note that my lookup filed points to the users entity of my CDS.

When i select on the added button, and leave the "Asesor" ,  is my custom lookup filed, if is empty it gives the same error:

I've made a similar test and found that I could update lookup field with blank value too.

Please check whether you set this field required.

I Have realized that you are testing in a custom entity. I have created the same test as you and it does not give any error.

The issue is that ir still gives the error exactly in the entity of "Phone calls" that of the system entity.

the same error for any search field added to this specific entity.

I've made a similar test in system entity and still not met this problem.

And I could update currency field with blank value successfully with the solution that I provided.

 So that should not be system entity 's problem...

Please make sure that this field not required.

Sorry, the problem is only in the system entity (phone call), I have tried it in different environments, trials, etc.

 

I have created 5 differents searchf field how i show you in the previous example and not, not is requerid the field.

Summer of Solutions | Week 4 Results | Winners will be posted on July 24th

We are excited to announce the Summer of Solutions Challenge!   This challenge is kicking off on Monday, June 17th and will run for (4) weeks.  The challenge is open to all Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio & Power Pages) community members. We invite you to participate in a quest to provide solutions in the Forums to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.    Entry Period: This Challenge will consist of four weekly Entry Periods as follows (each an “Entry Period”)   - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 17, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 23, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 24, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 30, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 1, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 7, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 8, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 14, 2024   Entries will be eligible for the Entry Period in which they are received and will not carryover to subsequent weekly entry periods.  You must enter into each weekly Entry Period separately.   How to Enter: We invite you to participate in a quest to provide "Accepted Solutions" to as many questions as you can.
