Dataverse Capacity limited by 1 GB

Our O365 admins have recently provided us with a new tenant intended for developing and running model-driven PowerApps.

Our architecture plan is based on multiple environments according to ALM environment strategy

We were told by the admins that the new tenant is fully licensed so that we can start with the implementation.

However the new tenant’s capacity appears to be  limited (to 1 GB) so that it’s not possible to create additional environments.  In addition we can’t see any storage capacity’s extension because of the licensed users added to the new tenant.

Could someone please tell me which kind of licensing / subscription is missing for the new tenant, so that I can point our admins to the right path..

Based on my previous experience, I 'd expect to have initial Dataverse DB size of 10 GB an  + additionally allocated space for every licensed user. Like here

Hi @mi_gu ,

 

You are correct, with at least 1 Power Apps Per User license you should be allocated 10 GB for your tenant and you should also be allocated space of 250MB per additional Per User License.  You should open a case with Microsoft if this is what you are seeing because it is not correct.

Unfortunately it's still the same . I'm just wondering if it worth it  removing ( by means of removing user licenses in O365 admin center)  and  re-adding users back to the environment

You can try that. Silly comment but ensure it’s in the new tenant, not the old one. Also, what type of tenant is it? Trial, CDX, standard paid subscription? If it doesn’t work I would submit ticket at Microsoft...

A completely new environment instantly provisions and fills 1 GB of space, making it a showstopper to attempt to test. It's quite a let down. Instead of having customers get nagged every week that they're out of space on a platform they don't even know they have yet, we just platform elsewhere.

Did you ever open a case on this.  If you buy a Power Apps Per App license the first is allocated 5 GB or if you buy a Power Apps Per User the first is allocated 10 GB.  I know each new environment you create basically utilizes a GB which would be nicer if it was less but I have been able to do a lot with the additional 9 GB in most of my customers (as I normally suggest they get the one Power Apps Per User).  Sorry this is not working out to your needs.

I did not purchase it.  Instead, I let it overfill and blocked the nag emails coming from Microsoft until they delete it or realize that giving 1 GB of space and using the entire 1 GB of space just to do setup isn't going to work to introduce the platform.  It's miniscule and unworkable.

Stupid question. When you mentioned , We were told by the admins that the new tenant is fully licensed so that we can start with the implementation.

 

What license were given to each user in new  tenant. 365 Business license and then per user license or just B/E license ?

Summer of Solutions | Week 4 Results | Winners will be posted on July 24th

We are excited to announce the Summer of Solutions Challenge!   This challenge is kicking off on Monday, June 17th and will run for (4) weeks.  The challenge is open to all Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio & Power Pages) community members. We invite you to participate in a quest to provide solutions in the Forums to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.    Entry Period: This Challenge will consist of four weekly Entry Periods as follows (each an “Entry Period”)   - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 17, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 23, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 24, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 30, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 1, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 7, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 8, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 14, 2024   Entries will be eligible for the Entry Period in which they are received and will not carryover to subsequent weekly entry periods.  You must enter into each weekly Entry Period separately.   How to Enter: We invite you to participate in a quest to provide "Accepted Solutions" to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.
