Not able to edit records through list

Hi,

I have created a list in which I want to see the details of the records and also edit them if necessary. I have been able to see the details of a given record but I am not able to implement the functionality to edit a record. I have attached snaptshots of the form I am using and the list.

My main doubt is in the "Origin of record" field in the edit form options, I don't know which origin I should choose.

(I know the snapshots are in Spanish but I haven't been able to change the language of the portal management app)

Thanks in advance!

Hi @MS5 ,

It doesn't look like a permission error. Let's try the next thing. Create completely new CDS form. Create completely new Portal Entity Form with Edit mode. Create completely new Entity List. Configure it as we discussed previously and see if the error will occur again. If it will occur I would suggest creating a support ticket with Microsoft.

Hi @MS5 ,

In the edit form in Record Source Type you need to select Query String and as Record ID Query String Parameter Name type id (see Edit Form screenshot). Now on the entity list for edit option if you want to open just edit form (as a pop up) select Target Type - Entity Form, in Entity Form select your edit form and in Record ID Query String Parameter Name type id (see attached Edit Table Option screenshot).

In Record ID Query String Parameter Name field in both options you don't need to type id, you can name that parameter how you like, it just needs to be the same.

Hope this will help.

Hi @OOlashyn,

First of all, thank you for your quick answer. I had already tried your solution without any luck. Just in case the problem is the entity I have created I have tried doing it again for the entity "contact", and it didn't work. I have attached the snapshots of the entity form and entity list to make sure I am doing everything correctly. By the way, "Cadena de consulta" means "query string" in spanish.

Do you have any other suggestions?

Thanks!

Hi @MS5 ,

It looks like you done everything properly. Does edit button appear on the list or you cannot see it at all? If you cannot see it please check out if you enabled entity permissions on the list (it is on entity list in General tab) and if your authenticated user has proper entity permissions.

Hi @OOlashyn ,

You were rigth, it was an entity permissions issue. I can now see the edit button, but once I press it, I get the error show in the image attached... I have also attached a snapshot of my entity permission, what does the scope/range field do? I have filled in "organization", I don't know if that is correct.

Thank you.

Hi @MS5,

To find out more about Entity Permissions check out this official doc. In short, Scope defines the level of visibility (Global means all records, etc). You can find more in official docs.

Regarding an error that you have - try to enable viewing plugin errors from the portal (follow this doc). If the error occurs because of some workflow or custom code we will see the error message instead of code. If after you enable that setting error still looks the same try to enable custom logging (follow this doc), it will allow you to see a more detailed error in Azure.

Hi  ,

Thanks for your suggestions. After following them, I got the following details on the error:Server Error in '/' Application.

A form named formulario de visualizacion couldn't be found on the entity cr027_propuesta.

It looks like it can't find my form, which is odd because the "details" functionality which loads another form for visualization does. Can it be a permission issue for that form in particular?

Thank you for your help.
