Copy files from sharepoint to local desktop folder

Hi all,

I am trying to copy the files from SharePoint to the local desktop folder. please guide me which approach is better. power automate(cloud) or PAD ? Thanks in advance!

Method 1: 

To copy all files from your SharePoint folder, you can sync it with your computer, similar to how OneDrive works. Here’s how you can do it:

1. Open SharePoint: Navigate to the SharePoint site containing the folder you want to sync.
2. Select the Folder: Go to the document library and select the folder you want to sync.
3. Click Sync: In the toolbar, click the "Sync" button. If prompted, allow your browser to open OneDrive.
4. Sign In: Sign in to OneDrive if you’re not already signed in. This will start the sync process.
5. Access Files Locally: Once synced, you can access your SharePoint files in File Explorer (Windows) or Finder (Mac) under your organization’s name.

This way, you can manage your SharePoint files directly from your computer, just like with OneDrive.

Method 2:

Utilize SharePoint actions to retrieve your file's properties and content, convert it into a file, and save it to your local drive.

Hey @Th11 

You can follow the above solutions of @Deenuji  to copy files from SharePoint to your local folder.

I want to add that you will only be able to copy the files to your local folder using Power Automate Desktop. You cannot copy the files using Power Automate Cloud.

Hey @Deenuji 

while using "Get file content" I am facing an issue that the File Identifier field does not take the Dynamic value it gives error that bad request.

Are you passing the value dynamically or selecting from dropdown. can you please share the screenshot.
