Hi,
I'm new with PAD, and have been trying to make the ''Save as'' UI button in the Edge Browser work, but with no success so far.
The first step to open ''Downloads'' window works fine, but PAD doesn't seem to find the ''Save as'' button.
Steps:
Error:
I also tried Click UI element in window, without success.
Any insight on how to make this work?
Thank you,
Thanks for the reply,
They are files used for excel Queries. I wanted to add them directly in their folder since some files can take 5-10 minutes to generate, and I didn't want PAD to get the wrong file when doing a Get Files in folder/Rename File/Move File. I have a few steps before the Download to generate said files with PAD.
There are actions to "click download link on webpage" then specify folder location ?
I think hotkeys are available. When this appears, try holding Alt and see if you see underlines under any letter. Whatever is underlined is the hotkey for that action. If no underlines appear, then I agree with @UK_Mike .
If file exists
delete file
end if
'run flow to download report
wait for file...
obviously, this only works if you know what the filename is. If you don't, there is more logic we can do to figure it out.
move file
Oh...forgot. Or "Mouse click on Image" is always a possibility. This is only recommended if it's always on the same resolution, the same size monitors, and never remote.
Thank you for the reply Michael,
Unfortunately, the files name changes every time, it has some Date + other data added to its name.
May test the "Mouse click on Image", see if it doesn't bug too much.
What are you using to initiate the save as popup ?
Hi Mike,
This is the normal Edge Browser Save As button. I have tried Press button in window in PAD but without success.
Can you not use this, edit the selector as per...?
I realize this is a year-old thread, but here's a solution in case anybody else has stumbled in here looking for an answer like I did:
PAD can't find the "Save as" button in the Edge downloads pane because the button is dynamic, and its attributes change each time it appears. In other words, it's not the same button each time. Your flow is looking for the button you clicked when you created the UI element, but that actual button no longer exists.
The solution is to edit out the attributes that change, so that your flow looks for something like the original button, but not the actual original button.
First, open the element for editing and go to "List Item 'What do you want to do...'" and uncheck the "Id" attribute. That digit on the end changes each time.
Next, go to "Button 'Save as More options'" and uncheck the "Class" attribute. The first value in that sequence changes each time.
Finally, go to "Button 'Save as'" at the bottom and uncheck the "Class" attribute there as well.
Disabling these three attributes worked for me, and I was then able to use the "Click UI element in window" to access it.
If unchecking these three doesn't work, create multiple instances of the element, then look at the Preview Selector at the bottom of each instance to see what changed. I had to copy all that mess from each one into Word to be able to compare them side by side to figure out what to uncheck.
Hi @Chris
I have this automated based on the text that appears in the button, this way, you can work with the right file if there are several ones on the list.
I will edit this post tomorrow, maybe it will be useful for you or others.
I tried defining the element by the text, as well as defining a picture of the button. I couldn't get either one to work. I'm learning that sometimes the same solution will work or not depending on which path you take to get to it, so I'll look for your post tomorrow to see if maybe you approached it from a different direction. It's no longer a critical problem, since what I outlined above definitely worked on my flow.
Thank you! That fixed it for me.
It worked for me too! Thank you so much for the "magic".
This was actually really helpful, thanks alot!
Hello!
Dude, where do I access this?
Thanx!
Thats screens ....
Where they are?
In PAD editor right there is UI elements navigation pane. There you can find your UI elements. Double click the element and that window will open
