Failed to extract and deycrypt credentials and other weird errors.

Hi, We have some flows running in two Virtual Machines.

Since yesterday, we've been getting errors such "Can’t find target session." or "The expected number of binary chunks is different from the actual number of chunks."

So we realized there was a Power Automate update pending, so we installed it in both VMs, now we are getting this error "Failed to extract and deycrypt credentials."

Any ideas how to fix?

We haven't done any change in the flows or in the VMs, it just stopped working suddenly 😞

Hi everyone, what we ended up doing was totally uninstalling power automate from the machines, installing back, Chrome and Firefox extensions re-added and then we created totally new connectios to the VMs, since then the issue stopped happening. But there is a lot of comments from the last couple of hours so now it sounds like there might be a bug or glitch on PAD side!

Install the previous version. May be the latest version broke something.

Same error message is happening with us.
We're obtaining a Secret from an Azure Vault, and passing it down to a PAD, where it is used. This issue is happening intermittently.

Some times the flow is working without issues, sometimes not. The same flow is working on just on VM.

The flow is straightforward just scheduled, getting the secret, passing it down to PAD

And yes the error message itself has a typo: Failed to extract and deycrypt credentials.

We're having the same issues across all automations as of yesterday. Doesn't happen every time, but too often. Is there a possible bug in the most recent release?

Started to get the same error out of the blue. Any recommendations?

We started to get the same message around 9am today all flows before then ran fine, now getting this. Sam_VionA, have you figure it out yet?

Hi, did you ever find a solution to this problem? For reasons unknown we see this same issue across multiple VMs, intermittently. It just started recently for a set of desktop flows that have run fine previously.

Code was running flawless until today. Exact same issue. The strange part is that I have "On Error Block" that will automatically send email notification with the exact line + screenshot when the error is happening, and I have not received anything from it.

Same here, maybe the bug is related to the block? Because it has not run at all and left of the apps open on one of my VMs, but the other one is working and thus far reported no issues.

Had this problem yesterday, I manually updated Power Automate Desktop on VM. Then I noticed, the extension wasn't downloaded... Or there was a problem with the Extension, I recommend to check it out because it gave me some weird message that the Extension might not be safe which caused it to not run browser automation (in my case).

Furthermore, because I had to update PAD, somehow this happened at the same time when Outlook activities didn't work because some privacy/usage settings that were turned off automatically.

Seems like every some Update or so theres something going wrong?

Same issue. Since 06/16/2023 I have been getting these errors intermittently. Will try to uninstall and reinstall PAD on the vm we are using.

For me seems to be back to normal after:

- Reinstall PAD

- Reinstall Chrome and Firefox Extension

- Updating the connections

Ok.. let me try this also but its extra work because to do that...
Thanks for testing

Same issue on my side ...

I won't take the effort to reinstall everything on different machines as this cannot be the solution.

Hope the issue is going to be fixed soon. Maybe somehow connected to the PA runtime machine responsible for the connection of the VM to the power platform?

In case somebody found the solution let us know!

Best

I did not reinstall everything and installed it again. Instead, I updated my gateway to the latest version under gateways and installed the latest version of PAD - can you test that?

Your solution of reinstalling probably fixed it because MS' release of V 2.33.94.23166 which states:

Repaired Functionality

The following list details issues in Power Automate for desktop that are now resolved:

  • An issue with the errors ‘CredentialAuthenticationFailed’ or ‘GeneralScriptExecutionError’, with which desktop flows may start to fail after the June 13th 2023 Windows update, has now been resolved.

I installed PAD completely new with the newest version, still the issue occurs.

I am using a service account for this ... maybe somehow this is connected ... I ran it on a machine which is connected to my personal user and the problem didn't occur ... I guess it is connected somehow to the user ..

Does somebody has an idea?
