How do I copy a text from Excel, then copy that to another software, and keep doing that back and forth? (A complete beginner here!)

Hello~

As indicated in the title, I am just starting to get my feet wet and I would appreciate it if someone could show me how to go about doing the following.

I am a media translator who makes subtitles and I often use machine translation in the initial stage of my work and I usually go about polishing that up.

The computer-aided translation application I use exports the data in excel format and I would like to copy each line to a line of a specialized software for making subtitles called SST.

What I want to do is the following:

1. Copy a text from the first line of an Excel file.
2. Switch the screen to SST and paste it on the translation column which you can get to by pressing the Tab button once.

3. Switch back to Excel, now choose the second line of the Excel file.

4. Switch to SST, press Tab button twice (pressing it once moves to the original language column, pressing the Tab button again moves it the translation column which I would like my cursor to be at) and paste the text that was copied from Excel.

* If I can tell Power Automate how many times to repeat this sequence, it would be great.

Since I am a complete beginner, I have no idea whether this is achievable or not, but I hope it can be done with relative ease.

If you have clues or pointers, or even better is an actual flow for this, it would be much appreciated.
Thank you for your help and assistance in advance m(..)m

SST
The first column is the original language column and the one underneath is the translation column.
Pressing the Tab key once takes you to the column under it.

Assuming you have gotten to the point where you have launched Excel to %ExcelInstance% and opened the SST program:

Get First Free Row from %ExcelInstance% to %FirstFreeRow%
Loop 1 to %FirstFreeRow - 1% increment of 1
    Copy cells from Excel Worksheet

        Column:  A

        Row:  %LoopIndex%
    Focus Window (the SST program)

    Send Keys {Tab:%LoopIndex%}

End (Loop)

Hello!
Thank you for getting back to me so soon.

I tried coping the command secion you wrote:

Get First Free Row from %ExcelInstance% to %FirstFreeRow%
Loop 1 to %FirstFreeRow - 1% increment of 1
    Copy cells from Excel Worksheet

        Column:  A

        Row:  %LoopIndex%
    Focus Window (the SST program)

    Send Keys {Tab:%LoopIndex%}

End (Loop)

to Power Automate, but not really sure how to do that.

Since the language of my Power Automate install is Japanese, it seems I can not locate the commands as they are in English.

Is there perhaps a way of importing these commands as one file?
Thank you for your help once again.

No, that is just me talking. You will have to create it on your own. I am not at my computer to give you a copy from a PAD flow. Sorry.

Hello.

Oh, OK.
Thank you anyway for your assistance.

I will see if I can figure out how to go about it.
Have a great day☆

Hello.

I did some tweaking thanks to your information and was able to get it almost working.
However, for a reason I can not figure out on my own, Power Automate is not pasting the data it supposed has collected from an Excel file.

I prepared a video capture and perhaps you can point out what I can do to make it work?

Here is the link to the video.

Thank you once again for your help in this regard m(..)m

It doesn’t look like it’s pasting. Do you need a Send Keys {Control}(v) after each {Tab:%LoopIndex%}?

Hello.
Thank you for getting back.

No, it is not pasting as you pointed out. I understand that right now it is supposedly copying information from the Excel file I have designated, then switching to SST, but do not really see if it has an adequate command for pasting. (Of course, I am a complete beginner, so what do I know? )

The last command you wrote for me,

Send Keys {Tab:%LoopIndex%}

skipped columns and did not move to the column immediately after it, so I replaced it with {Tab}{Tab} sort of guessing and this way, the cursor moved as intended.

Please look at the attached file if it would help in anyway.
Thank you once again for your help m(..)m

As long as you are able to get the tabs to move as intended. Then great.

In the US, on a QWERTY keyboard, we have a keyboard command (or hotkey) for pasting whatever was most recently copied. In the US, this would look like:

Send Keys {Control}(v)

If you have something like that, that should finish the job.

Hello.
I apologize for not replying sooner.

Anyway, I tried the Send Keys command, but I was not able to come up with a functioning flow, so I gave another software called UIPath Studio a try and was able to figure out how to accomplish what I had in mind.

Thank you so much for trying to help me nonetheless!
Please have a great day☆

I must admit that the Excel integration within Uipath is something to behold.

How this addon isnt in PAD is beyond me... 🤔
