How to Click Datepicker.( It is a situation where you cannot enter text directly)

hi.

I need to click "datepicker" in PAD. I wish I could type directly into the text input, but In my case that's not allowed.

I need to select a date(=icon of number) in the Datepicker UI.

If you know how to do it, can you tell me?

See if it allows you to do this.

- Right click on the datepicker -> click Inspect

- This will show you the Id of the datepicker or its name

- Then use the PAD action called "...javascript in webpage"

and just write this one line in it - document.getElementById('IdofDTPicker').value = "DateHere"

Below is just an example of doing the same via the browser console.

But you can type directly into the text box, use the correct format.

06/06/2022 as 6/6/22 is not allowed.

thank you for your answer.

But the attached url is just an example of a datepicker, and the form I'm facing in business is actually on another website (I can't show it because it's not a public website). The website form are restricted from direct text input. So I have to press the calendar UI.

Thanks!!!!

I did what you tol me and it worked!!

Dohhhhhh !!! 😂

Hi @VJR ,

This Javascript is working to pick the date but once I click enter or move the mouse, the date has been disappearing.

Hi @SmitaRobot , are you referring to the datepicker of the same url as in the original post?

If its different try to find out from the Inspect element as every datepicker has different behaviour. Will need to do some R&D (playing around with it).

No, i have customized datepicker and and I'm using my own datepicker and its appearing as the correct date as well, but its not getting selected. do you know other way to select date?Datepicker1 (1).jpgDatepickerImage (1).jpg

you can see 2nd image 14 is highlighted, if I click or enter its automatically selects a highlighted date. so my requirement is we have to highlight the date so we can click.

Have you tried directly writing in the above textbox?

Also as I mentioned in the above reply, right click and do an Inspect of the element. Sometimes the dates are written to a hidden text field. In that case you can write directly to that hidden textbox. Is this some public website that I can take a look at?

you can see the 1st image I am also writing javascript, but using javascript I am only able to get the correct date and it's visible to textbox but not selecting from the calendar.

After writing date to textbox hit something like an ENTER or a TAB.

Also go into the html code and see how the datepicker reflects the date of the textbox.

How do i make the date variable? I have a step to get current date and time and another step to convert datetime to text in the format dd/MM/yyyy. For example, 17/04/2023.

How do i parse in the formatted date into the javascript line without javascript running the "/" operator? Currently, the script runs the operator and inputs 0.0021 instead.

I have same issue. Did you fix it

In My case java script is not working any other alternative way

If the UI you are working with won't let you directly enter a valid date like in the solution, then you will have to interact with the existing elements.  Each case will be unique but should be possible.  Going back to that jqueryui.com/datepicker/ example once you are on the right month, selecting the right date is possible using the CSS selector like

" iframe[class='demo-frame']  table[class='ui-datepicker-calendar'] td[data-month='1'][data-year='2024'] > a[data-date='7']"

For today (2024-Feb-7)  Note that the month is zero based in this case.  You probably need to first work with the div[class='ui-datepicker-title'] and the spans to get to the right month first.
