How to restore deleted desktop flow?

I have accidentally deleted desktop flow on a machine witch we use for production. Tried restoring VM from backup that was made night before but it didn't recover desktop flow. I'm not sure where desktop flow files are located...

I only found ways to restore cloud flows, but nothing suggest how to restore desktop flows. Is it even possible?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Here is how I managed to restore deleted desktop flow from Admin Center. Basically:

  1. create new Sandbox environment
  2. restore Production environment which had deleted desktop flow from time before it was deleted into Sandbox
  3. From Sandbox env, create Solution and put your desktop flow inside
  4. Export Solution, it will be downloaded on you PC locally
  5. Go back to original environment, and import Solution

Detailed instructions(pictures included) can be found in attached document.

Has anyone else ever used the flow in it's current form, say with a different email/login or on any other workstation?

Hello Michael.
Yes, flow was made and used by robot1@deltaholding.rs user. Name of the flow was  "MSC - Pracenje statusa posiljki V1.0 - Copy 13.1.23.". And the Environment ID is 0eb82447-b8d3-488a-be39-da5f7dd97a04

Was it shared via the online tools (aks Solutions)?  If it was a copy, you should be able to find the original creator, and get it from there, or redownload it from a solution.

Shared Solutions are found by logging in here:

A single solution can hold multiple flows.

I tried looking up in Solutions tab accessed through the link you provided, but unfortunately I don't see desktop flow that was deleted. Maybe it wasn't shared?

Is there any other way to restore id?

not really, that is the purpose of solutions and different environments, but from what you wrote is not clear if you use any Application Lifecycle Management.

  • Do you have only 1 power automated environment and you developed and run prod flows in it?
If yes, and you do not see your flow in the "Default" solution, or under the flows tab (these 2 places show all flows even if they are in other solutions) - I do not see how you could restore. There might be a slight chance it is cached on the computer where it was created or run, but I think these are deleted when one deletes the flow.

  • Or do you have separate environments for Dev and PROD?
If you do - ask for help from your admin who set this up, they should be aware of how to try to restore.
But basically - check in the environments where the flow was created

To be clear, it was more like the first situation you mentioned. There is default environment which is empty anyway, and then there is PROD environment. I know it is kind of bed practice not to have separate DEV and PROD environment, but we will definitely work on that. I also tried finding cashed files on the computer but no luck there.

Anyway, I contacted Microsoft support. They instructed me on how to restore entire Environment from admin center (which I was not aware that could bring back deleted desktop flows) and eventually I managed to restore it. I will post detailed steps in another post and mark it as solution.

Thank you all for help!

I've moved the Apps folder in Ondriver then move it back. Now my PAD doesn't display all the flows I have. How can I display those flows again on PAD?
