Increment down key on a web page drop down

Hi All,

I'm trying to build a flow to select each option of drop-down one by one using SEND KEYS option in PAD. For example:

On amazon website first using the "Down" Send key, it will first move to "All Department" and then press enter. Then it will move to "Arts & Craft" option and press enter. This should happen till the end of the drop-down list.

Please note: "Select drop-down list value on webpage" option is not working on the website I'm working.

Please find screenshot of the way I'm trying to do this: I'm was trying to run it for first 5 options. But it just simply select drop down and click on "All department" 5 times.

Kindly let me know if my query is not clear.

Thanks,

Sakhi Garg

You can put if in the loop and for the 1st just send enter instead of down, enter.

This works without send keys, actually you dont have to click anything.
You can set loop to 1000 if you want, it will still stop at the last menu item without error.

On block error (settings)

Set drop-downlist value on web page (settings)

I am sure there are other ways of doing this, but it's fast, it works, and no click. 😊

Be aware that if the screen resolution should change, or the script has to run on another computer with a different screen resolution it wil fail.

Yes, that is true.

I just did this way for testing.

Hi @Highboy ,

Thanks for the reply. But in my website "Select drop-down list value on webpage" will not work which is why I'm using SEND Keys.

Try this:

LOOP 1 --> 15

    Click link

    Send keys: {Down:%LoopIndex%}{Return}

END LOOP

Hi @Guriga ,

Thanks for the reply. Your solution is partially working for me. Though it starts from the selected 2nd option instead of 1st. It skips the 1st option as by default when you click on drop down 1st option is automatically highlighted because of which it moves to 2nd option in {Down}{Return} step. Is there a way to get 1st option & then 2nd.

Thanks,

Sakhi

Please note I have taken Amazon as an example since cannot share the actual site screenshot.

You can put if in the loop and for the 1st just send enter instead of down, enter.

Hi @Guriga

Above solution works but only upto the options that are visible without scrolling any further. Basically as per amazon example: the loop will run till "Music, CD & Vinyl", after that it will start from 2nd option again instead of going down since next option is not visible.

Kindly help me on this.

Thanks,

Sakhi

I increased the number to 40 and on Amazon, it worked perfectly.

Yes but the website I'm using this solution is not working. Just gave amazon as an example to explain the issue.
