Make UI element dynamic when extracting values

Hello,

I have a PAD flow that is looking in an excel file to retrieve items and then going out and searching for these items on two different websites. When it finds the item, I want it to capture a date value and write that date value back to the original excel file.

If it can't find the item on website #1 it will look for the item on website #2.

Website #1 : I was able to use the Web action Extract data from the web without any problems. It searches for the item and grabs the date associated to each specific item. I then store each date in a variable and write it back to a specific excel file.

Website #2 : I was not able to use any of the Web actions for some reason, it kept giving me errors that it couldn't find the UI elements and I'm not savvy enough to know how to figure out why. Instead I switched to UI actions for Website #2. Everything is working fine, except for the action Extract data from a window. It fails because it's looking for a specific date in the element that it captured when I created the UI element. It should go to the element and capture the date which will be different for each item in the loop. Not sure how to make this dynamic rather than looking for a specific date.

@Ckatz Could you please try changing the operator to something: 'starts with', 'contains', 'ends with' instead of 'Equal to'

The property that you are highlighting is not active.

You have to edit the property of element 5 Data item: remove the date itself from the value, and change the operator to "ends with" or "contains"
