Power Automate Hosted RPA

Hi All,

I seem to be bashing my head against a wall with this and there, in my opinion, doesn't appear to be a huge amount of information available. We recently just bought the following licenses;

2 x Power Automate per user with attended RPA plan

2 x Power Automate unattended RPA Add-on

1 x Power Automate hosted RPA

The aim being that we can run our flow on the hosted machine and not have to bother about the machine that they were originally created on being on \ available.

The machine has been setup with out any issues and is accessible, however, it is only accessible the tenant admin account. I've assigned access to the users of the machine as co owners but unable to access to machine via RDP.

I've assigned all the licenses correctly in the Admin portal, in the capacity section. I've also created a connection from the data section of the portal.

The other issue is that if we setup a new flow, and for testing purposes, a manually triggered > Run a flow built with Power Automated for Desktop it just doesn't run, had error messages with the NLA if using AAD credentials and after unticking that, get another message outlined below;

Problem while executing action 'LaunchEdge'. Failed to assume control of Microsoft Edge (communication with browser failed. Make sure add-on is installed).

Am I missing something here? Should the users be able to access this remote desktop using RDP or is it purely for running the desktop flows on?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello,

 

The first problem in which you write about co owners unaccessable to the Machine via RDP. What do you exactly mean by this? If you mean that they cannot call the desktop flow in their own flows within Power Automate (Cloud), than that is correct. You can only use PAD unattended/attended acitivity from Cloud with the main account. But you can share it to others and they can run/rerun it. So if i recall correct, you will have to build the flows (cloud) on the main account. 

 

The other issue is a common error which should be resolveable, i would recommend reading some forum posts about it.

For hosted machine, sign-in access is only available to the creator of the hosted machine:

Hi @wizbod @kenseongtan @OkanAT. I'm working on a requirement where we need to share the Hosted RPA machine between 2 accounts to automate 2 flows respectively, because neither of their work should intersect in any case. Letting one of them run on the Hosted RPA machine and sharing the flow with the other user hence won't work in my case. Would Hosted RPA still be a good option in this case? I'm having my doubts but I would like to know your opinions.

HI @Isha87 , If you're running unattended automation only, you could consider to use the hosted machine group (part of Hosted RPA) capability where it allows different users to access the hosted machine group to run their respective flows

I Understood your point for unattended bots. But could we use hosted RPA machine also for bot development activities? Is this similar like normal VM where we can open and explore and install all the required softwares right?

Summer of Solutions | Week 4 Results | Winners will be posted on July 24th

We are excited to announce the Summer of Solutions Challenge!    This challenge is kicking off on Monday, June 17th and will run for (4) weeks.  The challenge is open to all Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio & Power Pages) community members. We invite you to participate in a quest to provide solutions to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.    Entry Period: This Challenge will consist of four weekly Entry Periods as follows (each an “Entry Period”)   - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 17, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 23, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 24, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 30, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 1, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 7, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 8, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 14, 2024   Entries will be eligible for the Entry Period in which they are received and will not carryover to subsequent weekly entry periods.  You must enter into each weekly Entry Period separately.   How to Enter: We invite you to participate in a quest to provide "Accepted Solutions" to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.
