Recorder in Power Automate - selected red outline is not lined up with where I am clicking

Hi, Hoping for some help. I'm new to Power Automate and I'm trying to use the recorder to automate some steps in another program - but I have an issue with my computer where when I hover over a button/search box/section of the screen, the red outlined box is appearing about halfway down the page, as though its misaligned with what I'm seeing on my screen. Any ideas how I can fix this? I tried changing my display settings on my screen but that didn't make any difference.

I'm trying to click a checkbox but when I actually click it, its recording that I've clicked on a random other part of the page so when I run the flow, it's failing as there is no checkbox at the place it THINKS I clicked. I hope that makes sense!!

Hey @smileandsparkle 

Power Automate Desktop is a little buggy sometimes. Though I have a work around for you. Search UI in the search pane. Then drag the action click ui element of a window. 

Click on the arrow: 

After this click on Add UI element. Then UI Picker will open, select the check box with it. 

I hope this works. 

Btw if you are new, you should really refer to these three videos. Dont get confused by the video, before there were separate recorders, web and desktop and now they have mixed it and called it just recorder.

Thanks so much for your reply - I did try this already unfortunately but its not working either. If I try and select the checkbox this way, it still selects a random part of the screen lower down. If I move the mouse really slowly and read the label of the red boxes, I can actually locate the check box I'm after by clicking half way up the page when the red box label THINKS I'm in the right place, but this is of course not an ideal way of working.

I have the exact same problem; seems like a scaling issue?

I can't get anything to line up, and even if I have it use OCR and move the mouse to the X,Y, it moves waaayy off target.

Hi @Wzaorski 

The text and/or resolution in your screenshot looks small probably not compatible with the detecting of UI elements for PAD.

Could you manually change both the below settings and check again adding an UI element.

If it works then you will have to keep these as your default settings of that machine and if needed using the Set screen resolution action for the resolution.
