How to Navigate specific selection in Canva App

How do I navigate to foster form for the specific selected animal.

how do I modify this to select the specific animal and go to foster form.

By default using the onselect property of your gallery should work or you could use a variable as :

OnSelect = Set(
    varSelectedItem,
    ThisItem
);
Navigate("Foster Me Screen")

• varSelectedItem = Power Apps variable name

Next, select the Display form and set its Item property as:
Item = varSelectedItem

@mandela, following the introduction of Item = varSelectedItem, the unique animal name didn't come up for the onSelect.  Kindly provide any additional information to make this work? Thanks.

@TianaFash yes worked for me, so in screen 2 select the form and in that datasource should be dataverse table and in item select the gallery.selected

Name of my gallery in homescreen is Galfoster.

For the Item property of the form both methods as mentioned above will work:

• a direct reference (galFoster.Selected)
• use of a variable (varSelectedItem) 

The advantage of using a direct reference instead of a variable is that a variable will need constant updating, adding complexity to your app. In some scenarios the requirements eliminate the use of a direct reference, for instance when there are multiple ways to select an item in which case a variable is the way to go.
