Not possible to create FosterID and ShelterID columns

It has turned out completely impossible to create column names of the format <Table_name>ID as experienced when  creating the Foster and Shelter tables for the exercise. First, after providing 'Foster' as the table name and 'FosterID' as the primary column name, I got the following error:

Failed to create entity with logical name pu_foster and object type code -1. Exception: Microsoft.Crm.CrmException: Custom attribute name 'pu_FosterID' cannot be same as the primary key for entity 'pu_foster'. at Microsoft.Crm.Metadata.EntityService.ValidateAttributeNameNotSameAsPrimaryKey(EntityCreateInfo entityInfo, AttributeInfo attributeInfo, ISqlExecutionContext context) at Microsoft.Crm.Metadata.EntityService.ValidateForCreate(EntityCreateInfo entityInfo, MetadataHelper metadataHelper, ExecutionContext context, Boolean useReserveEntity) at Microsoft.Crm.Metadata.EntityService.<>c__DisplayClass70_0.<CreateEntityFromReserve>b__0() at Microsoft.PowerApps.CoreFramework.ActivityLoggerExtensions.Execute[TResult](ILogger logger, EventId eventId, ActivityType activityType, Func`1 func, IEnumerable`1 additionalCustomProperties) at Microsoft.Xrm.Telemetry.XrmTelemetryExtensions.Execute[TResult](ILogger logger, XrmTelemetryActivityType activityType, Func`1 func) at Microsoft.Crm.Metadata.EntityService.CreateEntityFromReserve(IEntityInfo entityInfo, MetadataHelper metadataHelper, Boolean isInSolutionImportMode, ExecutionContext context, Guid& entityId) at Microsoft.Crm.Metadata.EntityService.CreateInternalHelper(EntityCreateInfo entityInfo, MetadataHelper metadataHelper, Boolean shouldCreateOnlyFromReserve, ExecutionContext context)

In the second attempt, I accepted the default primary column name "Name" by just adjusting abit and it was possible to create the table named 'Foster'. Next, under the table columns, the following error came up when attempting to create the 'FosterID' column:

An attribute with the specified name pu_FosterID already exists for entity pu_Foster.

In both cases, no column name 'FosterID' exists under the list of columns. The scenario was repeated when attempting to create the Shelter table.

Anyone pls assist me to know what is going on.

Thanks.

Joseph.

Hi @KJ20 ,

Could it be you have multiple solutions for the Power Up Challenge in your developer environment? This may cause conflicts.

No @BCBuizer , this is the only solution that I created yesterday. You've also made me recheck and have confirmed that it's within my own environment. 100% sure that there are no such columns in the other solutions we created under the learning exercises. Could the names be part of dataverse/dynamics standard tables? or could they be auto-generated (and hidden) for table auditing purposes?

Hi @karumaj ,

Can you please share the Columns overview from the solution explorer to verify some things?

Yes, columns do get creted automatically, but they will be visible in the abovementioned view, for instance:

image.pngThis is it. It's then now confirmed that there's a default one with the format <Table name>ID
