Patch Formula - Canvas App

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone can please help with a Patch Formula for the Final Challenge Canvas App please?

Patch(Animals, galAnimalList.Selected, {'Shelter Status': "Claimed for Foster", 'Foster Claimer': DropdownFosterID.Selected})

The error is:
"The type of this argument 'wf_shelterstatus' does not match the expected type 'OptionSetValue (Shelter Status (Animals))'. Found type 'Text'.

Shelter Status is a Choice column that includes the choice Claimed for Foster
Foster Claimer is a lookup column to the Foster People Table

Thanks

Try this for the choice column: {'Shelter Status': NameOfYourChoice.'Claimed for Foster'

Thanks @evahas

sorry but I'm completely brain dead after spending way too long on this.  Can you please explain that a bit more?  Thanks

Please try 'Shelter Status': Shelter Status (Animals).'Claimed for Foster'

Sorry about not being more clear! When I created my choice column, I used a global choice and it had me type in a name for my choices. The name of my choices appears in my column as below. I used that for the formula above. I am not sure how it would work if you created a local choice.

I also used two patch formulas - one that first updated the Foster Family table and then another (in the OnSuccess of my form) that updated the Animal table and used .LastSubmit.

@evahas no need to apologise.  My brain is fried so it's just me taking a bit to catch on.  My choice column is not a global choice.  Not sure what impact that has???

'Shelter status' -> This is the name of the column in animals table.May be your shelter Status column name is ShelterStatusChoice? if so replace 'Shelter Status' with 'ShelterStatusChoice'

Can you provide a screenshot of your column? It should show a display name
