Nintex workflows to Power Automate automatically

Hello Sirs,

Is there an existing tool on the market that is "converting" existing Nintex-workflows that are running on SP on-prem to Power Automate(SP Online) automatically without any need to recreate the FLOWs from scratch?

Thanks.

Kind Regards

hello @Anonymous sir, sorry to disappoint you but there is no software or product which will automatically convert on-prem nintex workflows to power automate.

You will have to plan for this change thoroughly, as the actions may not be same in both platforms. Best of luck !

Hello @jinivthakkar ,
Yes, I assumed that could no be achieved, but the world is moving and I was wondering, if I have missed something in that direction. 🙂

Hello @Shivareddy ,

I'm not aware of such a document. Basically, they are pretty similar and the actions that you may find in Nintex you could find in Power Automate as well.

Kind Regards

Why would you want to go from Nintex to MS Power Automate?  We have been using Power Automate for over a year and so many times the workflows get throttled and the email notification to notify staff they have a task fails to send.

We moved to Nintex hoping that won't be a problem.

Hi @davehtx ,

It was part of a project that I was involved in. Some Nintex workflows should have been transformed into Power Automate.

All The Best

There are lots of reasons why someone might want to go hybrid with Nintex and Power Automate. I've found with more and more clients that they'll use a Nintex workflow pack (a limited number of workflows with 5 forms per workflow) for long running workflows (since Power Automate terminates after a month) or approvals, or for more complicated document generation - or even just for ease of use. I'm very workflow platform agnostic but I do find Nintex easier to teach business users. Power Automate is better for things like adaptive cards, Teams-integrated approvals, all sorts of connectors....
It is basically algebra to figure out which one to go with for each process, but, it's fun algebra!

In any case, the Nintex-to-PowerAutomate transition is not as simple - especially if going from On Premise. ShareGate, for examples, only supports 30 actions for transition from Nintex On Prem to Nintex O365 ... so now translate that over to an entirely different platform - and - well - just be sure to plan ahead!

We are migrating from Power Automate to Nintex.  We found a serious deficiency with Nintex that Microsoft Power Automate did well.  If you have a Nintex start event that kickoffs when a list item is modified it will not let you pick a date field to see if that is the thing that changed.  This is the thing that kicks off most of our workflows.

The Nintex workflow is to create two additional fields in your SharePoint list for every date field you want to use to kickoff workflow; a previous date column and a calculated field to see if the date matches the previous date.  And then you have to add another step to the Nintex workflow to copy the date to the previous date field.

We faced a similar challenge when transitioning from Nintex workflows on SharePoint on-premises to Power Automate on SharePoint Online.

Fortunately, we found that Katpro Technologies provided a solution tailored to our needs. They offered a seamless migration process that minimized the need to recreate workflows from scratch.

I would recommend reaching out to them.
