Approval Connector: MS Teams Message Received, But Email Not Received

Hello community,

I hope this message finds you well. I am currently facing an issue with the approval connector in Microsoft Power Automate. Here are the details of my question:

Description of the Issue: There are instances where the approval request MS Teams message reaches my supervisor, but the email from flow-noreply@microsoft.com does not arrive.

I appreciate any guidance or insights the community can provide to help me overcome this challenge.

Can someone please provide some information on this topic?

The additional information is as follows:

・There was no email in both the web version and the desktop version of Outlook.

・There seems to be no problem with email forwarding rules. 

・I did Exchange Online message trace and it didn't seem to be getting any emails.

There are people who have encountered a similar situation before.

Could there be a bug in the feature for sending approval emails?

Can you answer a couple of questions.

Does it work sometimes or always not send?

Does it work for some or not work for all?

The reason I ask is I want to know if it might be something to do with specific peoples email address configuration?

The other thing to consider is your outlook rules (not personal but your tenants configuration by your admins). As it might flag these as potentially harmful and quarantine them (this happened to me with the mail notification action for me which is also from microsoft.com).

Hi wyattdave, thank you for your reply!

For every 200 flow executions, it occurs about once.

Out of approximately 30 approvers, it occurred once for every 5 approvers.

However, those approvers usually receive approval request emails.

So I think it has nothing to do with specific peoples email address configuration.

The admin said there seems to be no problem with email forwarding rules so I think tenant outlook rules are OK..

Hi @Niko7 ,

Sounds like you have checked everything and eliminated everything but the approval connector (especially as you have found others with same issue). I would recommend raising a support ticket with Microsoft through the admin center as looks like the problem is with approval workflow.

I'll ask the admin to raise a support ticket with Microsoft through the admin center!
