write data from one form to two tables

I have a simple app that uses two tables. One is a list of students, one is a list of events.

WHat I want to do is create a new student record, and at the same time, record an event (student recrord created) in the events table. I want to write data in both tables (excel) with one post action.

I have created two forms in one screen, used the onSuccess of the first one to post the second, but the bottom form (set to DefaultAdd, always says no data found and displays no form fields. Must be something simple.

You mentioned that your apps have problem find the data and display form fields,please share more details about the scenes.

This is what I want to do.

Environment: Excel in Onedrive

Form: Add a new person to the persons table

Table: Persons

Fields: Name, Active_Status, Email

That part is easy, but here's where I'm having the problem

When I post that form, however, I also want to write a record in a events table

Form: Add event

Table: Events

FOrm: EditForm1

Fields: Name (from above), DateTimeStamp, Comment ("New record added")

The solution I tried was take the normal update screen from the app builder, added a new form (Form1) to the EditScreen1.

(I have not renamed anything so it should match what you expect)

I changed the Default of Form1 Name to be DataCardValue8.

I changed the Form1 DefaultMode to FormMode.New

I changed the EditForm1 OnSucess to SubmitForm(Form1); Back()

Both excel tables were empty

From the BrowseScreen 1 I clicked the + to create a new record. Entered the data in both forms. Posted. Both tables were updated.

WHen I went BACK to try it again, only EditForm1 fields show; Form1 fields are replaced with "No Item to Display"

That's what I know so far...
