Automated Flow Not Working, But Works When I "Test" it.

Can anyone tell me why this flow doesn't work automatically?  I get a notification from the MS Form stating that a response has come in.  When I go into the Flow, I click test, and it sends the way I expect.

Any ideas?

I think that it is finally working now.  I took out the parallel branch and stuck it below in succession.  I would love to see how yours works though... probably better than what I did.

--- UPDATE ---

It is working inconsistently.  I had items flowing... but my last one has not come back to my email.  I submitted the form 28 minutes ago and the emails haven't kicked out.  Now, I am hoping you can provide a better solution, @ScottShearer

Here is an example of a simple Flow that should meet your needs.  I send one email but you could easily add a second.  I suspect that you will continue to see inconsistent results unless you break this part out into a separate Flow.

Can you provide additional detail  - what do you mean by "not working"?  If you mean that the Flow is not starting, please note that it can take up to 15 minutes for a Flow to fire/start depending on your license.  When you test a Flow, it usually starts immediately.

Hi @ScottShearer,

THanks for replying.  I have created the flow.  I have a form response into Microsoft Form.  I can see it in the Spreadsheet... and I have been sitting here for 60 minutes and it hasn't triggered an email to either the respondent or to me, but I did see the automated message from Microsoft FOrm stating that a form had been submitted.  Does this answer your question?

@JHendricksRC

The structure of your Flow looks a little odd.  Usually, after the Forms trigger, you need to have a Get Response Details action which enables you to reference the response data.  See my example below.

Also, just because you did not receive an email doesn't mean that the Flow didn't run.  Take a look at the previous runs in the Flow properties.  You might see that they have errors associated with them which will be helpful in fixing your issue.

Can you post a screen shot showing more of your Flow?

@ScottShearer

That is the bottom of my flow... there isn't anything else there.

Is there a sample of sending responses from a Microsoft Form Excel Sheet?  I'm confused about the "get responses" and what to put into the unique identifier.

@JHendricksRC

It sounds like you have the Forms trigger in the middle of your Flow.  While not technically wrong, it is highly unusual to have multiple triggers in a single Flow.  You may want to have a separate and very simple Flow to send these emails.

If you want to respond to a Forms submission, you have no need to touch Excel - see my example above with Get Response Details.  You may be saving the response details in Excel, but you still don't need to touch Excel to send the emails.

Are you saving the responses in Excel?  Can you give me a better understanding of what your Flow does?

  1. User Enters Form Data, click submit.
  2. Upon submit, user (who is anonymous based on our configuration of company Office 365) gets an email kicked out to his entered email address as a confirmation
  3. Another an employee gets a message with form entirety and other templated header/footer info with the form's contents.

I said spreadsheet before, but the flow doesn't touch the spreadsheet, only Microsoft Forms.  The data itself is sent to a spreadsheet for later manipulation by an admin.  The spreadsheet isn't integrated into the flow.

@JHendricksRC

I will provide an example later today.  It will be a separate Flow and be based on the screen shot I provided.
