Creating a flow automatically download/save an excel attachment from my email and then copy the data from the downloaded excel into a table in the master (both in the same file)

Hi

I have managed to do the 1st part of downloading/saving an attached Excel into the designated file.

I am however struggling to do the sent part of copying the data from the downloaded workbook into the master copy, I did manage to get one of the columns to have data but it was only doing one row not all of them. Unfortunately the excel is quite big, but thinking of a method that will not rely on human input.

Any help is much appreciated.

If you have the Excel in your OneDrive, then you need to use the "List rows present in table" action to pull all the data from the file's table. Then if you go to create a row in the master table & use dynamic content from that list rows action, it will automatically generate an Apply to each loop for you.

The only challenge with this is it requires the table to have the same structure in every file you receive.

If the incoming tables have different columns & things, then that requires a lot more difficult work.

@takolota the files are identical in structure. My only issue that I have just realised is that the incoming file is a csv and not xlsx, trying to look at a way to save it as a xlsx file instead of the csv that is comes in as. Thank you for your help.

You could use one of the 3rd party connectors to parse those CSVs, or there are ways to efficiently set it up with just standard connectors.

Personally, I use this standard action CSV parsing template to avoid any common issues like in-data commas.
