Flow randomly stops working without notification or error message

Hi all,

I'm a b2b puzzle editor and have built a flow to automate the puzzle orders my team receives to come together on our plannerboard. It works like this (screenshot below): I receive the orders in my email and that is the trigger for flow to upload the .xlsx file to a designated folder in Sharepoint. The upload to Sharepoint is the trigger for a new card in Planner, to which the orderfile is attached with the sharepointlink. I then only have to adjust the deadline to the card (something I'd like to automate in the future, but it varies and the data is in the attachment) and assign it to one of my teammembers.

It took me a while to figure this out and it does work like 90% of the times, but sometimes it just doesn't work, and no notifications or error messages are given. I check the flow and all is fine, I testrun it and it works. Do any of you know what this could be?

It just saves me so much time when it works, but when it doesn't work it really is a hassle.

My settings are in Dutch and I can't change that, I'm sorry. I hope someone can help me with this issue. I have built this with the help of: https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Building-Flows/Create-an-item-in-a-sharepoint-list-when-a-value-...

and the attachment: https://tomriha.com/add-0-n-attachments-from-sharepoint-to-a-planner-task-in-power-automate/

@Deezziej

Are you saying that the Flow doesn't trigger - i.e. there is no run?

Hello, @Deezziej!

Do you have a run after configuration?

Hi Scott,

Yes, somehow it doesn't trigger, but it does tick all the boxes for the trigger. Is that something common?

Hi Rrovira,

Yes I always run it after I change things, if that is what you mean. Sorry, English is my second language so bear with me I might make some mistakes 🙂

@Deezziej

It sounds as though your Flow is running - can you post a screen shot of a run?

Hi @ScottShearer

I did another testrun with one I knew succeeded - see the two images below:

So, if I use the triggers of this morning, which emails didn't include an attachment, I get the same result in my run, but because there is no attachment the whole left side gets a grey cross and thus no card in planner. Which is good of course, because there is no order to plan.

Run without attachmentRun without attachment

However, as you might see below, there is a huge gap between the emails received this morning and then 5 days ago. This is not correct, I have received emails on monday and tuesday with attachments as well.

I suspect it has something to do with the conditions below. However, the emails received all ticked the box for the second requirement (after OR) which is has an attachment with .xlsx.

No runs were done, and thus no cards were created on our plannerboard. The emails from the same person with the same style of emailing did trigger the flow last friday. So, what could this be?

@ScottShearer @rrovira

Do you have any idea based upon my latest screenshots or is this a lost cause?
