Flow will turn off in 15 days - owner of flow has left the company

Hi, I got the following message from MS Powerautomate on Aug-18th: 

"Flow turn-off alert for aRMP Customer Qualification

The flow will be turned off in 15 days because the owner, Rémi XXX, doesn’t have a premium license. Use the troubleshooting tips in this email to prevent the flow from being turned off."

 

Troubleshooting tips
Fix the flow in one of the ways below:
• Ask Rémi XXX to start a trial. Comment: Remi has left the company 2 years ago - no contact with him any more.
• Select the Go to my flow button in this email and contact an admin to request a premium license for Rémi Gautier. Learn more about premium licenses. Comment:  since Remi has left the company it makes not sence to re-activate his account and buy a premium license.... I would say.
• Assign a per-flow license to the flow.  Comment: I dont know what that is or if that is the solution really.
• Add the flow to a solution and reassign the flow to a new owner who has a premium license. Comment: I guess this is the proper solution. 

 

Background: 

  1. I am a admin - can I somehow delete the creator/owner from this flow?
  2. I am a total beginner when it comes to flows. I am not myself a flow developer but just a user and run my company.
  3. Remi is the owner of the flow and I cannot remove him (greyed out). However, that would be the easiest.

My idea:

  1. Export the flow / safe the flow
  2. Install the flow in a different environment (my personal insteads of the companies (productive) environment)
  3. Give new admin roles (just me)
  4. Delete the original flow from the company (productive) environment
    1. however will the system allow me to do this since I am not the owner?
  5. Export the flow from my personal environment and and re-install in the productive environment as the (new) owner/admin

 

If anyone could help I would appreciate it a lot!

Any solution for this? I'm facing the same problem now. Owner has left the company

Please open your power automate and select edit as shown below

Thanks for your response. This is a non-solution flow and runs on the owner's plan. It wont let me remove the owner. I have a Power Automate per user plan license.

Hi @laksh_hari ,

 

I don't want you to remove the owner totally by replacing him with another one has active account on the AD.

I think you have deactivate the account of that user so it won't work correctly and to safe yourself please change any record associated to him.

I have the same level of permissions as the owner of the flow, so what I did is save a copy of the flow, deactivated the original flow and activated the new flow. Now it shows me as the owner. That should resolve it I guess.

This is correct. I too, have downloaded the PowerApp to my download folder. I renamed the current version and kept it as a backup just in case anything would go wrong.  I then uploaded the downloaded version again to the same environment but removed one user (the one who had left the company and had the owner rights!). After reinstalling the downloaded version only I was left as the owner and sole user.  
I guess one can add new users and co-authors to the app after re-installation.
Hope this helps.  For me anyway the problem was solved.

Summer of Solutions | Week 4 Results | Winners will be posted on July 24th

We are excited to announce the Summer of Solutions Challenge!    This challenge is kicking off on Monday, June 17th and will run for (4) weeks.  The challenge is open to all Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio & Power Pages) community members. We invite you to participate in a quest to provide solutions to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.    Entry Period: This Challenge will consist of four weekly Entry Periods as follows (each an “Entry Period”)   - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 17, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 23, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 24, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 30, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 1, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 7, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 8, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 14, 2024   Entries will be eligible for the Entry Period in which they are received and will not carryover to subsequent weekly entry periods.  You must enter into each weekly Entry Period separately.   How to Enter: We invite you to participate in a quest to provide "Accepted Solutions" to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.
