Form-Email flow - sending answers to the form as table in mail

Hi all,

My flow is triggered by every submission of form that I made.

My goal is to send the answers to the form in a table through the mail.

The first column should be the question, the second is the answer.\

So dar I saw several posts using HTML table, but none of them reflects about using forms (most of them are about excel).

Would really appreciate an explanation about how it can be done, thanks.

Normally the way you do this kind of thing is by processing an array and adding each array entry to a table.  The challenge here is that the form answers don't come into the flow as an array.  They are only accessible as individual questions/answers.  So there is no way to Loop through the questions.  To report them out as an HTML table you need to access each question and its answer and either add it to an array (that you can convert to HTML) or directly to an HTML table.  Unfortunately, there is no easy way to automate that.  Its just a manual process with a separate action for each question/answer.

I thought about storing every response answer in excel and then approaching the last row to retrieve the information for the table but the HTML creation is not running well. WDYF?

You don't need to store the responses in HTML.  If you use the 'Get response details' action the response answers will be available as dynamic content in the flow.  You can load them into either HTML or an array from there.  But you'll need to handle each question separately since they aren't in an array.  Something like this

After you do a 'Get response details' the answers to each question will be available as dynamic content.  The questions themselves aren't .  So if you look at the Append to Array actions in my screenshot you can see that I'm appending a JSON object that contains two key/value pairs.  The first is the text of the question itself.  You need to enter that manually.  The second key/value pair is the dynamic content that is the response to the question.  Once you've processed all the questions. Once you've added all the questions and answers you can use the Create HTML table action to turn the array into an HTML table.

Ok so it worked amazing!

Now my problem is with formatting the table, I tried to use a compose action with CSS HTML script and paste it before the table in the mail but it didn't worked (following this guide: https://ryanmaclean365.com/2020/01/29/power-automate-html-table-styling/)

Any other thoughts?

You can't just paste it before the table in the email.  You have to use a Compose to combine the styling and the table before you put the results in the email.  Also, CSS is a good way to style the table, but not all CSS will work because of the way that HTML is handled in email.  Check his article again and apply the steps just as he does.
