Possible issue with Flows creating additional folders in my One Drive folder

In the past 5 days or so, it looks like there are folders creating themselves in my One Drive folder on my laptop.  All my flows are the same, with specifics internal to folder paths to update and overwrite files, but they never created folders on their own bwfore.  I would greatly appreciate any ideas of how this could be happening.  All the folders in the attached Snag_aab081a.pngscreen shot in the red box created themselves  Thanks!

Hi @Anonymous ,

First question, have you created flows to create folders in OneDrive?

The second question, have you created flows to create file/Copy file/move file and configure Folder path/ Destination File Path manually?

The third question, have you created Microsoft Forms and allow upload attachments?

The above three situations may cause Folders to be automatically created in OneDrive, please check these situations.

@v-bacao-msft  Thank you for responding.

I'm attaching screen shots - every flow I have has the same set up and some of the Flows have been working for at least a month without having this OneDrive issue.  I do have a Create file process in each one, but that never made OneDrive create its own folders.  Not sure how I check the "allow upload attachments".  Can you assist?

Hi @Anonymous ,

Please remove the last "/" from the Folder Path of Create File action.

And fill Display Name output by Create file action in Destination File Path

Like:

75.PNG

Besides, have you created other flows to copy a file or Create file? If yes, those flows may cause Folders to be automatically created in OneDrive.

@v-bacao-msft  Thank you very much for the corrections.  I only have these types of flows now so I have changed per your instructions and will be testing in about an hour when the next files come in.  I will keep you posted.  Thanks again!

@v-bacao-msft Looks like that didn't work.  I'm attaching screen shots of the changes I made on my flows and the folders that keep creating themselves.  Should there be a / in the destination file path in the Copy file using path section?  Thanks

Hi @Anonymous ,

So have you created many similar Flows to copy files?

Does the Destination File Path in these Flows contain WR Ticket / Closed Ticket Search / ... these folders?

If so, I think this is the expected behavior, because you are manually configured Destination File Path, if you copy the files to these paths, then these folders will be created automatically.

If new files are copied to these folders every day, these folders will be changed, so the Modified time will be updated.

@v-bacao-msft   I don't think this should be the expected behavior.  I wrote several flows months ago and they never did this - and they are identical to the flows now.  The Flows that start with LNVO have been running for maybe a month and a half?  Maybe longer

Snag_1a0256ca.pngSnag_1a028ef1.png

When they first ran, they never produced any additional folders in OneDrive.  Now I have all these flows listed above and all of the sudden there are folders being created.  The folders in the red box are actually the same names as subfolders in the folders pointed to in purple.  This never happened before.

Snag_1a066d1d.png

I made the changes you suggested - took away the "/" at the end of the folder path in the Create file section and changed "Name" to "Display Name" after the folder path in the Copy file using path section.  And that section does not say "copy and create a folder" - just copy and overwrite the file attached.

You can also see that the folders that are supposed to be updating the files have a different icon next to them - I was told that means that the file exists on my local machine

You can also see that the Flows have been completing successfully.

On the opposite side, the folders that are creating themselves have files in them that I am being told means they only exist in the cloud - online and not on my local machine.  They are not causing anything to fail in terms of Flows or any other program - just a mystery why this all of the sudden started happening.

If you have any other ideas or see any changes that need to be made in my Flows, I would appreciate it.  Thanks!
