Good Afternoon,
When loading the app I get errors at the top indicating that the excel file is not found. I have located the file in my one drive but the administrators page is empty. Can this file be pointed to another location or is there a way to resolve this?
Chris
Hello everyone!
I'm far from an expert with PowerApps, but figured a great way to ween myself into the platform would be to start utilitzing the templates provided by Microsoft. One of the templates is for a new hire onboarding workflow, called "Onboarding Tasks" I've tried getting this to work more than a few times and it never seems to function as intended!
Here is the workflow I'm following to set this up:
1) Click Create app
2) Click "Make this app" for Onboarding tasks
3) Grant permission for connections to
a) Outlook
b) Outlook Tasks
c) Office 365 Users
=== At this point the app is created & I can begin editing if I wanted ===
4) Click "Make my own app" banner that appears @ top of screen allowing me to store the associated excel database in my OneDrive account.
5) Play the "Admin Screen" which allows me to add myself as an Admin.
6) This is when the wheels start falling off... Here's a breif list of issues I'm running into:
a) Edit icons are not displaying correctly. They are white, and are 100% different than what I'm supposed to see. That said I am able to click on them (if I'm able to find them.)
a) Nothing populates in the "Quick Resources" menu on the "My Profile" screen.
b) The "Team" screen does not display anything in the 'Team Header'
c) Zero content displays on the "Company" screen.
d) None of the changes I make will hold after making revisions. To clarfiy ANY changes I make won't hold.
I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling this app and associated resources such as outlook to do lists & excel database being stored in my OneDrive. It seems every time I try to reinstall the app I get a slightly different outcome! Sometimes content will display as expected, others I'll get a error message banner @ top of my screen immedatly after install and not touching ANYTHING. One common trend is that any revisions or edits I make to the app NEVER hold, always reverts back to OOTB settings...
Anybody willing to help me?
Same error here plus a few more for good measure.
Almost form the word go it appears unable to retrieve my profile picture because teh field "UserID" is invalid? Picture loads fine on the main page though.
Other big issue is that it is not writing to teh admin excel file no matter how much i try.
Such a shame as this app is amazing except for that! Some proper documnetation would be amazing!
I have had the same issue myself, but I can find no way to resolve
This doesn't work. Not sure if it's the usual PowerApps glitchiness or something else. Can't update tasks or anything else despite following the video instructions. It's an amazing piece of work and it's a crying shame it doesn't work. I suspect it's not the creator's fault.
Hi,
I reached out to the folks at MS who support the sample PowerApps templates and let them know this template is not working for some folks. I expect they will start looking into it ASAP.
Has this been addressed? I have downloaded the template and it works perfectly, but there's one issue. I can't add myself as an admin. I am able to add everyone else in my organization as an admin, but when I go to search myself, I can no longer click on the add button. This is very frustrating.
Hi Todd,
It didn't worked for me, I even tried uninstalling/reinstalling the app but still the same, my folder in OneDrive (PowerApps > Template) has full rights and the app is shared fore Everyone within our organization.
While the data.xlsx can be seen in the OneDrive, the app looks not saving on it even me as the admin of app is working/editing the Tasks, etc.
This looks so nice and looking forward to have it implemented in our company.
Thanks
Hi,
I wish I could fix it, but it is not something I am able to edit. I reached out to the PA Team again about the issue.
