Filtering SharePoint folder files then sending desired results to OneDrive folder

Hello all. I have a flow that captures target properties from SharePoint Folder. I want to send the files remaining after the filter to my OneDrive.

This is what I'm doing thus far. I get the folder properties, then I am selecting target fields from the returned properties, then I'm filtering the filename field to include only excel documents. The output from the final step has only the data I want. Now, I want power automate to go to the file paths remaining in the output and grab the excel file. Finally, I want power automate to send those excel files to my OneDrive. Eventually, I plan on sorting the files by modified date then sending the newest file to our SQL server database. But for now, I just want to figure out how to send the excel files to my OneDrive.

This is the output from the last action in the above flow. These are the files in the SharePoint folder I need to send to OneDrive. I'm assuming PowerAutomate can ingest either path_u, fullpath_u, or the identifier and pull the corresponding file. Then I want to send that file to Oned Drive. How can I do this?

Do I need to somehow attach the first part of the file path? Notice below none of the paths have the root folder that contains "https:/...sharepoint.com". I think this is needed, right?

Hi @Not_confused

Pls add "Create file" action within "Apply to each" loop just after the 'Get file content' action.

If this helps & solves your problem, please remember to give a 👍 and accept my solution as it will help others in the future.

Yes, but not all files. I only want to copy the Excel documents with a key phrase in the file name. Also, the files are in a deep nested folder. subfolder/folder1/folder2/folder3/target_doc.xlsx

Is there a way to pass the output file names or paths to a SharePoint "Get content" action? I only want to grab the files whose metadata is in the select output.

Hi @Not_confused

In the "Get file content" action, pass the file identifier which you have selected in the previous action. Sample action is shown below:

ManishSolanki_0-1693502586959.png

Use "Create file" action of one drive connector, pass the file content from the output of "Get file content" action to copy the file to one drive folder.

Thanks for this @ManishSolanki

I'm a PowerAutomate newbie coming from the world of SQL and Python. What do the compose steps do? Seems like they're needed to tie everything together?

Hi @Not_confused

Pls ignore other actions, these are added for my research purposes 🙂

Pls, focus on the actions which are talked about and highlighted.

@ManishSolanki

Here are the 2 actions I added as you instructed. The Create file action does not have "File Content" to choose from in the drop down(circled in blue). Am I missing an action between the "Get file content" and "Create file"? PowerAutomate automatically applied the "Apply to each" action because the select action before it returns that array.
