Flow fails to Create SharePoint list item if field is blank (Apply to each expression help)

I am trying to build a scheduled flow that updates a sharepoint list if there has been any changes to an excel sheet.

Whilst the flow works it fails if certain fields are blank. There is a field for shipping 2023 and a field for shipping 2024, but not all orders have shipping for both years. 

So when the flow runs I get his error :

but I cannot get the expression to work as my action sits within an apply to each, I have tried the following but get "invalid expression"

The expression you provided is copied below:

if(equals(outputs({items('Apply_to_each_4')?['Shipping 2023']},''),null,outputs(@{items('Apply_to_each_4')?['Shipping 2023']})

I don't know if you copied and pasted this, or maybe you don't have it in the field correctly, but it shouldn't have the { } brackets in it. I know the at@{} came from you copying the dynamic content.

I'm almost suspecting you typed it directly into the field instead of as an expression. But I can't tell without a screenshot.

Here are a couple of expressions to try and test. I don't know exactly which will work since the number vs text might throw an error:

Your original expression with the brackets removed:

if(equals(items('Apply_to_each_4')?['Shipping 2023'],''),null,items('Apply_to_each_4')?['Shipping 2023'])

Here is one that checks if it is empty instead of equals (might only work for text?):

if(empty(items('Apply_to_each_4')?['Shipping 2023']),null,items('Apply_to_each_4')?['Shipping 2023'])

Let me know if either of those work for you, and also show a screenshot of where you put the expression. I want to see how it looks in the flow.

Guilty 😄 , I copy and pasted it as it wasn't on the dynamic content list when writing the expression. 

I can select it as dynamic content normally but I have to search it because of the number of columns in the list and excel sheet.

Try either of these, I saw that "Outputs(" was in the expression and probably should not be, especially without a closing ) parentheses somewhere.

if(equals(items('Apply_to_each_4')?['Shipping 2023'],''),null,items('Apply_to_each_4')?['Shipping 2023'])
