Canvas App with sharepoint

Hi, I am creating my first canvas app with sharepoint list. I created through the wizard, by default, it is displaying 3 records from the sharepoint list, how can I limit it to display records that related with the current user ?

What is it about your records that indicate what user it is for?

There are a variety of ways to track that, how you are doing it is significant.

For example, if there is a column in your list with their display name, then you can filter your Gallery as such:

Filter(yourList, yourUserColumn = User().DisplayName)

But, this is just one of many ways...all depends on how you are doing it.

Default sets the default item that you want selected, so no.

Items is the property that sets what the items are that are in the Gallery.  If you want to only show the items for that user, then that is where you would filter - The Gallery Items property.

I updated the item property, but no results show up, and the formula shows "invalid argument type" error

Actually, I changed the 'Requestor's Name' to 'Requestor’s Name'.DisplayName=User().FullName),  and there is still no result, but I got warning that "delegation warning the filter part of this formula might not work correctly on large data sets", not sure what goes wrong ?

You will definitely get some delegation warnings on that.

you would be better off to use the Email as it is unique instead of the display name.

Change your formula to the following:

With({user:User().Email},
   Filter(yourDataSource, 'Requestor's Name'.Email = user)
)

The With in this formula only moves the determination of the user email outside of the Filter function as this causes delegation warnings otherwise.

Thanks, there is no error or warning anymore, however, I still got no result.

I figured out, it was something wrong with my test data.  Thanks
