Canvas visible in studio but not in live app

Hello,

I just can't figure this out. I have built a version of the template Onboarding app, including screen that displays the users team. Peers, Managers and Reports are held within collections and sit in galleries within a canvas. 

It all looks fine in the editor:

But does not display in the live app:

I have confirmed that:

• The collections contain data
• The canvas, data cards and galleries all have the visible set to true, all have the correct heights and X/Y coords (as evidenced by the little test labels in both screenshots above)

Can anyone suggest what I might be missing?

It's always worth checking the obvious 😁 Yes I've published. It was working previously, but the canvas control has disappeared for some reason

How are you controlling visibility on the Canvas?  AND, is it really the Canvas or the DataCard in the Canvas?

If you are using a variable to control visibility, you might have a value not getting set initially (I've seen this exact issue with datacards/canvas controlled by variable).

Simple solution if it is a true/false variable is to wrap it in a Coalese - Coalesce(myVisibilityVariable, true) (or false if necessary).

Hi @RandyHayes, thanks for your message.

No, I'm not using any variables I'm afraid. Both the Canvas and the DataCard are set permanently to true. 

Previously, I tested whether it was the DataCard or the Canvas by adding a second DataCard to the canvas, which contained a dummy label. This did not appear when the app was live either, so I'm leaning towards it being the Canvas that is causing issues.

It was a shot...I chimed in because it sounded identical to an issue I saw before in regard to the visibility.

It's always painful to diagnose a play-time issue - as you have to tinker and then publish then play, then rinse and repeat.

However, I would try to put some diagnosis labels on the screen and set the text properties to things about your Canvas - things like Canvas1.Visible (should show true), Canvas1.Y (and X, Height, Width, etc. should all show the proper values).  I'd start to see if you find any anomalies in that which might lead to an answer.

@RandyHayes, yep tried all that too. All values returned as expected, even the visible property showing true, but the canvas was still not visible.

What's even weirder is that I've just deleted the troublesome canvas and added a whole new canvas with just one dummy label in it. Even this isn't showing when live! 🤔

Solved it. The issue was with the height of my canvas.

I had set the height to 538, which is the distance from the top of the control to the bottom of the screen. I instead changed the height property of the canvas to Parent.Height - Self.Y. What I don't understand is that it calculates the exact same value as I had set before...538! But this works and using a set height doesn't!?

I've spent three hours on this 🤣

I experience the exact same problem. However, changing the height or width of the data cards seemed to work the first time but it stopped working all together all of a sudden. Any suggestions?
