Checked boxes are not getting added to a collection

I've got a choice question in a form, and when the response to "remove from all apps" is yes, I wanted every box for the apps checked, which it does. But, it does not add them to the collection I have even though the oncheck formula works when I select them manually. Why are they not getting added to the collection?

I'm referencing the form values to make it easier on the user when filling out the form. If the answer is "Yes", then I can save the user the hassle of checking all ~14 boxes. I could omit that question and just have them check the boxes manually if what I want to do isn't possible.

Ah...gotcha.  I was erroneously assuming you were trying to set the checkboxes based on a prior value, not from a separate field choice.

Yes, to avoid the circular reference, you need to do one of two things:

1) Move the Remove From all Apps choice outside of the form.  This would involve creating a combobox outside of the form and essentially setting it up with the same Items property of the current combobox.  Then set the DefaultSelectedItems property of the combobox IN the form to yourNewCombobox.SelectedItems

You would then make the datacard in the form for the combobox to be not visible.  You need it in the form, but you are really getting its value from another control (the new one outside of the form).

Then, set the Default on the Checkbox in your gallery to:  yourNewCombobox.Selected.Value = "All"

2) Utilize a snapshot variable.  You can put the following in the OnChange of the current combobox:  Set(myChoice, Self.Selected.Value)  Then set the Default on the Checkbox in the Gallery to: myChoice = "All"

You would then want to make sure you clear that variable by putting the following in the OnSuccess action of your Form: Set(myChoice, Blank())

Either one would work just fine.

I went with the first solution and it is working but with some minor issues, when creating a new entry the Title column is only populated with ","s and the new combo box allows the user to choose both Yes and No, when it should replace one with the other if the user changes their mind. Thank you for all of the help so far!

First - Change your combobox to not allow multiple selections.

As for the Title value...let me know the following as they are at this point:

1) The Items property of your Gallery.

2) The Update property of your Title datacard.

The items property of the gallery is just a sharepoint list with an entry for every app

The update property of the title card is the same expression you gave me earlier, but without the extra "Value" part at the end because it gave me an error saying it was not recognized

Yes, so your Concat formula is only going to concat commas!!  The purpose of the Value in the original formula was to specify the column you wanted to concat.  I had assumed that your gallery was based on a Choices function.

So, if it is based on an entire list, then you need to specify the column you want to appear in your concat from that list.

So, for example, if it is the App Name column you want, then it would be:

Concat(Filter(Gallery1.AllItems, 'App Name Removeal Box'.Value), 'App Name', ", ")

This expression is working for when "Yes" is chosen, but when "No" is chosen and the user only picks a couple boxes, it still lists every app. I don't think it's checking if the box is selected or not is it?

Is 'App Name Removal Box' the name of your Checkbox control in the Gallery??

Okay, I don't know why, but when I first input the expression you gave me it made me put [@checkboxname]

instead of 'checkboxname'. For whatever reason, changing it to the 'checkboxname' version made it start working as intended. Thanks for all of the help
