Data not being posted to Sharepoint

Hello

I have an edit form with 3 boxes

When the user clicks a submit button I have the following

Patch(
  colDiaryEntries,

    LookUp(

  Defaults(colDiaryEntries)

I then have a separate button which should save to Sharepoint

This does not save my changes to Sharepoint

What am I doing wrong?

This is really frustrating as there are no error messages or anything to help me see what the problem is

My collection is either my site diaries in sharepoint or the site diary entries that will be loaded from local storage

Right now it’s sharepoint as the app is only online at the moment which makes it more confusing

Actually, I am referring to what is in your collection prior to you trying to submit to SharePoint?  Is the data in there valid and what is expected?

ok so now we are getting somewhere!  The collection is NOT being updated so my Patch into the colDiaryEntries isnt working

Yes, that is what I was trying to determine - problem with collecting, or problem with patching.

Seems the issue is with collecting.

Most likely it is centered around your LookUp in the formula.

How are you initially loading the collection from your datasource?

I will post when I get back to a computer but the gallery that displays the diary entries looks correct 

I just load them from sharepoint site diary entries

Okay, that sounds good.  What I am focused on is that you:

a) Have actual records in your collection from the datasource and that they contain a valid ID column.

b) What is in your varCurrentRecord variable when you are on the editing screen. (Specifically, the ID value)

However again...you have stated that your form is based on a Collection and not a datasource.  This is NOT valid and will produce incorrect results in your collection for later.  Your form needs to be based on the datasource!

My Gallery which is used to get the items has this in ITems

When the user selects from the diary Gallery I set a variable varCurrentEntry

Set(varCurrentEntry, ThisItem);

I think the issue may be that its getting mixed up with the data sources

The data source here is Site Items for the Gallery control

But the Data Source is colDiaryEntries for the form

Maybe its getting mixed because they point to 2 different collections?

I cant refer direct to Site Diary Entries as the Data Source or Item for the form because of the offline functionality
