Hello
I have two screens, one is where you start to type in a name and suggestions are populated in the drop down box. After choosing the one you want, "Go" navigates to the second screen with the details in a gallery of the information for the name chosen.
As shown here in screen shot
This is all working how I want it to. However, when I go to the second screen and use the date picker, firstly it doesn't patch to my sharepoint list, though the tick box does and when you change the date, the information and name changes on the gallery, and I get a "title required" error code when I go out of the trial using the play button. If I put a space in the coding and then remove it the error goes away?! (not in original when I add the coding either, only after I have trialled the app)
As per screenshot
I have used the date picker function on another app without any problems, and this one has the same coding. I added a save button to see if any different, same result.
Anyone have any ideas what's happening and why?
Thanks

items of the gallery displaying the details of the contact selected?
LookUp('NZ Schools Contacts', Dropdown1.Selected.'Full Name' in 'Full Name')
So are you saying that instead of Full Name I should use ID? It makes more sense for me to use Full Name as it relates to what i'm selecting and the details of that name selection i'm wanting to display
that coding for the datepicker works, however it is putting the date in all the ones beginning with the first Name part eg St Mary's high School, St Mary's Primary School, going into both, not the one selected by dropdown.
Nearly there yay
I am really struggling here to understand your model as I keep getting unexpected responses. A Lookup will only return one record - I was expecting a Filter based on your list. The whole issue here is that you need to identify the record you need to update, so how do you select that record and display its details ?
@WarrenBelz I have changed it to filter.
I have a SP List that is a contact list connected to Outlook 365, from this list I get my data source from.
I have 3 screens. First Screen, record is selected via dropdown with a text input to put start of letters to find the name.
Screen 1
This goes to second screen with all the details of the contact of the name chosen
The date is selected from this screen to relate to the Contact chosen in the first screen, the details showing in this one.
I tried using in instead of = and that puts the date in the whole column in SP 😣 Now to figure out how to get rid of those.
I also want to put a contact picture related to the information shown in screen2, however that is another issue that you're kindly helping with (hence the error symbols)
I don't know if I'm making much sense, I'm fairly new to this and so learning as I'm going
A rather unusual model, however is that list name you have redacted (this is not helpful) 'NZ Schools Contacts' and what field are you displaying in the drop-down? If it is not that list, what is the field name in 'NZ Schools Contacts' that matches the item selected in the drop-down and is that field unique for every record in 'NZ Schools Contacts'
I like to be unusual 😀
the field (i'm assuming, correct me if wrong, that field here is the SP column) in the dropdown is the full Name which corresponds to Full name in the SP list (list name correct)
ergo the dropdown displays the schools contacts from the school contacts SP list under Full Name
by Unique do you mean each record is all different? (ie different names?) then yes (not 100% sure what you mean you mean by unique) There is only one column in SP with "Full Name", the "Last Name" column which outlook 365 created I changed to "Title" as it seemed to be default? and needed to patch the date
This is getting more confusing the further it goes - you have a drop-down with the Items
Filter(
'NZ Schools Contacts',
StartsWith(
'Full Name',
TextInput1.Text
)
)
I assume here you are limiting the choices of the drop-down by entering characters in the test box.
You then said you had a Gallery with the Items
LookUp(
'NZ Schools Contacts',
Dropdown1.Selected.'Full Name' in 'Full Name'
)
You can make this Delegable with
LookUp(
'NZ Schools Contacts',
'Full Name' = Dropdown1.Selected.'Full Name'
)
This will only display one record (which I assume is the one you want to Patch), but will contain the entire record including the ID (put a label in the Gallery with ThisItem.ID and it should display). I am now more than a little lost as to why this does not work.
Patch(
'NZ Schools Contacts',
{ID: Gallery1.Selected.ID},
{
Title: " ",
'Date Visited': DatePicker1.SelectedDate
}
)
You have also now said
There is only one column in SP with "Full Name", the "Last Name" column which outlook 365 created I changed to "Title" as it seemed to be default? and needed to patch the date.
So you do have a Title field, which it being patched blank in the above.
I also see you have answered the question from my early post now - you generated this from Outlook Contacts using the "Contacts" App". I did some testing on this and could not even get it to connect to Power Apps (this may be a change depending on the age of your app).
I will have one more go at this and then unfortunately have to raise the white flag. I believe the issue may lie in the app compatibility as a lot of what you have posted is not logical to me from a normal app point of view.
So try this
UpdateIf(
'NZ Schools Contacts',
'FullName' = Dropdown1.Selected.'Full Name',
{
Title: " ",
'Date Visited': DatePicker1.SelectedDate
}
)

In regards to the connecting to outlook 365 I used the classic experience and then used the outlook connector, I then had to copy the contacts into the folder created in outlook, it then generates in SP ( set up as a contact list, again in classic experience)
As below
You probably know already, it may be useful for someone else
The ID. I put the label in which showed it up, that could be helpful in future so i'll just leave it there.
You wouldn't think something so simple would be cause a headache
