Date Picker issue patching and resetting gallery

Hello

I have two screens, one is where you start to type in a name and suggestions are populated in the drop down box.  After choosing the one you want, "Go" navigates to the second screen with the details in a gallery of the information for the name chosen.

As shown here in screen shot

date picker issue2.png

This is all working how I want it to.  However, when I go to the second screen and use the date picker, firstly it doesn't patch to my sharepoint list, though the tick box does and when you change the date, the information and name changes on the gallery, and I get a "title required" error code when I go out of the trial using the play button.  If I put a space in the coding and then remove it the error goes away?! (not in original when I add the coding either, only after I have trialled the app)

As per screenshot

date picker issue1.png

I have used the date picker function on another app without any problems, and this one has the same coding.  I added a save button to see if any different, same result.

Anyone have any ideas what's happening and why?

Thanks

@Alderney ,

This is getting more confusing the further it goes - you have a drop-down with the Items

Filter(
   'NZ Schools Contacts',
   StartsWith(
      'Full Name',
      TextInput1.Text
   )
)

I assume here you are limiting the choices of the drop-down by entering characters in the test box.
You then said you had a Gallery with the Items

LookUp(
   'NZ Schools Contacts',
   Dropdown1.Selected.'Full Name' in 'Full Name'
)

You can make this Delegable with

LookUp(
   'NZ Schools Contacts',
    'Full Name' = Dropdown1.Selected.'Full Name'
)

This will only display one record (which I assume is the one you want to Patch), but will contain the entire record including the ID (put a label in the Gallery with ThisItem.ID and it should display). I am now more than a little lost as to why this does not work.

Patch(
   'NZ Schools Contacts',
   {ID: Gallery1.Selected.ID},
   {
      Title: " ",
      'Date Visited': DatePicker1.SelectedDate
   }
)

You have also now said
There is only one column in SP with "Full Name", the "Last Name" column which outlook 365 created I changed to "Title" as it seemed to be default? and needed to patch the date.
So you do have a Title field, which it being patched blank in the above.
I also see you have answered the question from my early post now - you generated this from Outlook Contacts using the "Contacts" App". I did some testing on this and could not even get it to connect to Power Apps (this may be a change depending on the age of your app).
I will have one more go at this and then unfortunately have to raise the white flag. I believe the issue may lie in the app compatibility as a lot of what you have posted is not logical to me from a normal app point of view.
So try this

UpdateIf(
   'NZ Schools Contacts',
   'FullName' = Dropdown1.Selected.'Full Name',
   {
      Title: " ",
      'Date Visited': DatePicker1.SelectedDate
   }
)

Hi, @Alderney
First of all you need to now below points.
1. Every SharePoint list new item required or mandatory filed, that filed called default as name "Title"

2. You are using Patch function. That patch function to try create new item in SharePoint list.
But you are missing to add "Title" column data. So that error appear,

AsanKani_0-1649892829510.png

add title in you formulae, error will be disappear

Patch('NZ Schools Contacts', Defaults('NZ Schools Contacts'),{'Title':TextBox.Text,"Date Visited":DatePicker1.SelectedDate})

Thank you for your reply.  Unfortunately it doesn't give me that option

These are the list headers I have in Sharepoint. It is a synched Sharepoint list to Outllook365 and automatically populated.  I have however added a date visited column for the date to be patched to.

@Alderney  can  you please share the Full SharePoint list column name's.

@AsanKani There are a few columns I have added such as Contact photo, visited, date visited and person.  It's not showing the Attachments column on the list settings which is the first shown on the list

Thanks

@Alderney  above SharePoint list is it NZ Schools Contacts?
Your PowerApps screen shot shown Title is required column. But your SharePoint list not shown Title column, and all column is required or not details not in SharePoint list snap. So, confirm that... is it view in your SharePoint List column required like see my SharePoint list snap...

Every SharePoint list must content in Title column and it's required as default.. I think you have modified the column name & required or not...

AsanKani_0-1650693741557.png

You can once check every column edit and see in your address bar like below

AsanKani_1-1650693953018.png

These are all in your NZ Schools Contacts SharePoint List.
Is it must shown Field=Title... so, confirmed that column and add your coding to create new item in your SharePoint list as per my first reply

This list is synched to outlook 365 and the column fields are automatically generated, the only ones I have added are the ones I have said I have. I haven't renamed any of the others, nor changed any settings. I can patch to a yes/no column into this list but not the date picker. I could try renaming one of the columns but it would need to be a default.  there are no default columns in this automatically generated list.

Sorry to say, I can't able to help you.. May be other community support member will help you.

Hi @Alderney ,

Happy to help a neighbour over the ditch . . . reading though this, I see your Date Visited column is definitely Date and Time (I assume Date only), so that is not your issue

WarrenBelz_1-1650783159625.png

however, it is interesting that I cannot see a Title field, which should be there unless you have renamed it. Normally I would suggest as @AsanKani has done that you look at the top of the URL to see what has been renamed, however I now need to ask how you actually generated this list (you mentioned Outlook365) as I see a Content Type of Contact, and all the fields I would expect to see in a Contacts list. As an experiment, try to create a field called Title and see if it lets you do this.

@WarrenBelz  yeah, this type is new for me.. so, I can't able to resolve his problem. I have same doubt. how do to synched to outlook 365 and the column fields are automatically generated...?

We will wait and watch his @Alderney  reply..

I am also so excited to know new things like this...
