Hi,
I'm building a Power App with the Power App app in Teams and have a problem with the date picker.
Property AllowTextInput is true. If I select a date using the date picker the date will be displayed in the date format mm.dd.yyyy, e.g. 31.05.2021. This is fine and what I want.
But if the date field is blank and I type in the date 31.05.2021 using my keyboard the date will be removed as soon the date field is losing its foucs. If I type in the date 05.31.2021 using my keyboard the date automatically will be changed to 31.05.2021 as soon the date field losing its focus. You can see that behaviour in the attached gif.
Solved! Go to Solution.
I believe you are correct.
Surprisingly enough, most places that tell you to submit a bug point you to this forum. Kind of what you did.
The Idea forum is monitored some what, but some items that are actually bugs and not just ideas in that forum have been there for years.
So, my suggestion would be to open a support ticket with Microsoft to at least register it as such and cross the fingers.
Since the Teams PowerApps part is quite new, there is probably a slew of updates planned on the roadmap, which might include the issue you are seeing. But, knowing what that list is and when things are coming is impossible to determine.
Wish I had better advice, but nothing so much.
If you are trying to enter 31.05.2021 and want that to be based on the German language code, change your Language property on the DatePicker to: "de-DE"
Your format should be set to ShortDate
I hope this is helpful for you.
It looks like that there are no Language and Format property. And I think it is because I'm building a Teams app (with the Power Apps app in Teams). If I trying the same in the Power Apps Studio in a simple canvas app there are the mentioned properties.
Ah yes...the ever so stripped down Teams controls! I should have recognized it from the image you had.
Those controls in Teams don't yet have the same level of internationalization properties on them. I am pretty sure that at this point, all language information for controls is coming from the Teams Host and there is no way to change them.
Definitely worth putting in a post on the Idea forum in regard to this.
Sorry I have nothing more definitive.
Thank you for your answer. Then it is a bug I think as the date control doesn't handle it correctly if you type in the date. Maybe only in the combination with the date format dd.mm.yyyy.
Is the Idea forum the right place for bugs or is there something better? (I'm new to Power Apps and its community.)
