Delegation warning CountRows(Filter(datasource, status="Completed"))

Hi

Is there any workaround on the delegation warning below without using power automate? The record is only 32 rows.

Another question is when Onselect label on the status "Completed" the gallery will appear only "Completed" status.

I really appreciate your expertise..

Thanks in advance...

@Anonymous ,

Another approach (but along with @Pstork1 's warning on this)

With(
   {
      _Complete:
      Filter(
         'SHE-UCUA',
         Status = "Completed"
      )
   },
   CountRows(_Complete)
)

will take away the warning and work perfectly provided your items with Status = "Completed" are less than your Delegation limit (the list can be far bigger). It also avoids a Collection "hanging around".

First, a delegation warning is only a warning, and not an error. If you know the data source only has 32 rows you can just ignore it because it won't matter.  Delegation isn't needed for a data source that small.

Second, there is no way to do a CountRows() without a delegation warning because that function isn't delegable.

@Pstork1 thanks for replying to my questions. Understood the delegation warning on Countrows().

Mind to help me on my next question?

"Another question is when Onselect label on the status "Completed" the gallery will appear only "Completed" status like the picture below.

I assume you mean you want the records shown in the gallery to change when you select that label.  The way to do that is to set the items property of the gallery to filter using a variable instead of a hard coded value like "completed".  Then in the OnSelect set the value of that variable to the filter value you want to use, like Completed, or In Progress.  When you change the value the gallery will refilter.

To bypass the delegation, use ClearCollect(Collectionname, 'SHE-UCUA');

Then only perform CountRows(Filter(Collectionname, Status="Completed"));

As long as the DataSource is point to Collection instead of database/sharepoint list, there will be less delegation.

Just to be clear.  yes, that will remove the delegation warning.  But it won't do anything to clear up the underlying issue that the warning is for. In this case it will work because its not a large data source.  But if it were a large data source and you implemented a simple ClearCollect() to add the data source to a collection it would just add the records up to the data row limit.  You wouldn't get a delegation warning, but you wouldn't get all the data either.  As I mentioned in my response, the delegation warning is just a warning not an error and can be ignored if you have a small data source.  If you have a large data source you need to do a lot more than just try to copy it to a collection using ClearCollect().

Thanks @WarrenBelz it is indeed clearing the delegation warning. Yes, I understood @Pstork1's on the fundemental issue that the warning is for. I'm just new to Power Apps. Thanks for your guidance so far.

Thanks @Anonymous I will be following @WarrenBelz by using 'With' clause to eliminate the warning sign atg this moment.
