Displaying SharePoint list data in comboBox without character input: Is it possible?

I have a comboBox where data is retrieved from a SharePoint list column 'Persons'. Currently, users need to enter at least one character for possible persons to be displayed. However, I would like the option for all persons to be shown immediately without entering any characters. Is this possible?

Hi @AH92 does your Person field have a default property set? and is allow searching turned on? if you would like to display all people then don't set a default property and have allow searching on this should solve your issue!

Please click Accept as solution if my post helped you solve your issue. This will help others find it more readily. It also closes the item. Remember, you can accept more than one post as a solution.

Turn allow searching off

Its ok to have the default selected items property to be something like parent. Default but setting this property will case the issue your facing:

My person field property's:

What field are you using for the person selection? is this a person field?

Andrew

I'm using the single field, I only want to show the displayname.

As you can see for my datacard, I have Parent.default for the DefaultSelectedItems property.

Default of the datacard:

Result:

When I click to open the combobox:

Even if I disable allow searching it gives me this:

Ok let me see if I can recreate this!

Can you show me what you have in your items property?

Honestly I cannot see what is wrong with what you have so far what is your SharePoint Data Type you are using? Is this a Person Field?

I would maybe delete this data card and re-inset it back on to your form and then only change the filed layout to single. as this will then rest all property's back to the defaults and this may solve your issue?

This is not a modern control.

I tried to delete the datacard and re-inset it back on to my form, filled layout to single. Still the same...
The items property gives the choices of my sharepoint list column 'Coach', which is a persons field

I that case I'm am struggling to recreate your issue and I cannot help you any further with this as it seem to be working on my end whit all the same properties and data types.

You should keep this item open and see if anyone else has an idea to what this could be because I cant understand why this isn't working for you as it works perfectly for me!
