Edit Screen | Combo Box defaults to first item of the list instead of previously selected item

Hey Guys, 

I need a little bit of guidance here. I created a ticketing app of sorts. Here I have the following screens.

- New Ticket Submission (new form)

- Ticket Review Screen ( browser/gallery screen)

- Ticket Edit Screen ( Edit Form)

- Success screen

The issue is when I go into Edit screen for an existing ticket, my combo box defaults to the first item of table and not the one initially searched and selected at the time of ticket submission. Screen shots attached. 

How do I set the default property of my combo box in the edit screen to default to the originally selected item at the time of ticket submission as referenced in the screenshot.

Got it!!  Then the answer is simple.  You don't need any combobox or dropdown for the other three column.  They can all just be Labels.

So here is how that changes things.  I'd remove the three disabled fields from your form and then add them back in to the form to reset them.  Then, unlock the datacards in prep for the next steps.

Now, for the original combobox, set the Items property to: SKU_Table

Change the DSI of the Combobox to : LookUp(SKU_Table, Item_Description = Parent.Default)

Change the Default property of the DataCardValue textinput controls in the three columns as follows:

Item Number TextInput control Default : yourCombobox.Selected.Item_NO

Item Group TextInput control Default: yourCombobox.Selected.Item_Group

Manufacturer TextInput control Default : yourCombobox.Selected.Manufacturer

Then for the Datacards for the three added fields, set the DisplayMode property to DisplayMode.View

That should give you what you need.

@RandyHayes @Sid_Jafri  i have gone through the steps and i cant seem to find how u resolved the blank issue

it still shows blank despite the fact that the result is "FST 608 XW"; I have that formula in the default selected items, is there anything i missed?

I would check the datasource and makesure the spelling of the field you are referencing is correct to the down to the upper case lowercase, I had a lot of grief because powerapps if it cant find the exact match of the fieldname, does not update the record.

@Dokushi What is the data type of your column, if it is text then just have this in your default selected items [Parent.Default]

The spelling matched, i was able to fix it by setting the default selected column to lookup the serial number column and return the referenced vehicle number for that serial number

Thank you for this tip Randy ..  "You cannot set the Default property of a Combobox.  A Combobox uses records for its selections, so you must provide a table of record compatible with the Items property of the combobox to the DefaultSelectedItems (DSI) property of the control."   ... was stuck on this one for a while until I read this.
