Form checkbox on check and uncheck

I have built an app within a SP list and was recently provide some support within this. However I faced some other issues as follows:

1.) I need to be able when unselecting the checkbox it then removes the value that has been entered at on check

2). When selecting the item from the SP list for it to show the checkboxes that were originally selected

Is there a way of making this obtainable?

I tried to look back over some of the other posts, but can you you clarify if you are using an EditForm for this in your App of if you have the Checkboxes as separate items?  I believe I understand that you have a column in your SharePoint list for each of the checkboxes.

Yes the app uses an edit form, each checkbox updates a different column within SP

So in a previous post, you were looking for a way to update the value in the list whenever a check box was checked.  We seemed to get through that.  Are you not able to use the same formula (with false in the logic to set it back to false) in the OnUncheck action?

And I believe your other issue is that you want to display the value from the underlying record in the checkbox. If that is the case, then your Default for the checkbox should be ThisItem.columnName  Replace columnName with the name of the column you want to display.

On trying to add thisitem.AprYR1 it doesnt allow to use this item? So I cant see if the uncheck is working. Any idea why im not able to apply this item to the checkbox default property?

If it's not letting you use ThisItem, then you are NOT in an EditForm. This is why I asked about the EditForm.

So where are these Checkboxes?  If you are using an Edit form, then they should either be in the edit form or should be referenced by the edit form (for update only - for default, you will need to derive from the record referenced by the edit form Item property).

This is a shot of my screen which I can see is in edit mode. I'm not sure if its to do with when transferring from screen 1 to 2 it doesn't know what item it is referencing (to not have the this.item property)?

So I don't see an EditForm in either of those screenshots.

It definitely appears that the screen with the checkboxes is custom made and not an EditForm.

So, the question then would be, where is the record?  Is there some EditForm somewhere?  Is there a Gallery that contains the record? Is this a SharePointIntegration form customization? 

You will have to get the value of the column for those checkboxes from some place.

Yes it is SharePoint integration form customisation.

I have selected edit item from the SP list then customise using Power apps.

This then opens screen 1 which displays the edit form which in turn references the selected item. From screen one the user then selects which year they would like to update. This then takes them to the next screen which i have added custom checkboxes to pass the data back to SP.

I hope this makes more sense or if there is a better way of doing so id be interested to know 🙂

Very good.  So, since this is a SharePoint integration, you can set your default property on each checkbox to the SharePointIntegration.Selected property.   Essentially, the ThisItem is really SharePointIntegration.Selected statement.

So, for example, on the AprYR1 checkbox, you would have SharePointIntegration.Selected.AprYR1 as its default property formula.

See if that moves you closer to the goal.
