Hello Everyone,
I have an application in which users enter their daily tasks which are assigned to them in their day to day work, and to monitor which are completed or pending,
Now, I want to generate a report for them (which is a Requirement) in which they can see in table format all of their tasks by each day either completed or pending.
for this I have done something like that but its not what they wanted, I have used an HTML text control, in which I have wrote some html code to display the values and when the user clicks on the button it will generate the PDF and save it to the OneDrive of that user.
But, I want to have the user to see a table like format in which all of the tasks are listed down by each day, having information like:
Date, Task Name, Status and etc.
I actually want to generate and print that report directly from PowerApps.
screenShots Attached for reference.
PDF Generated and Saved to OneDrive.
Any Help in this Please!
Thanks

Solved! Go to Solution.
Thanks @MH3 ,
You can generate a PDF from exactly the HTML code you have with a Flow and a OneDrive conversion. You can also email this back to the user. I actually do this with forms generated in the field, which can then be emailed (forwarded) by the user to the intended recipient. Here are a couple of YouTube videos from Shane Young @Shanescows
PowerApps PDF Generator using Microsoft Flow PDF Converter and PowerApps PDF from table data
I have never bothered doing a download exercise (technically, you could return the OneDrive URL and do this) - I find it easier to simply email them back to the user, who can then print them if this is what they need to do.
Yes sir @WarrenBelz ,
I understand what you said, from the flow the Email action can be used which then send that html in pdf format to the user.
but I am doomed in how to create that flow, I had watched videos of @ShaneYoung but I couldn't get it.
Actually I want to do that, the user clicks on the button in PowerApps and then it sends back the user an email with the html converted into PDF and then it can download or print.
I am stuck in creating the Flow.!
Thanks @MH3 ,
My suggestion is have a go at it and then post what you have done on the Power Automate Community. One of the experts over there will be sure to guide you. One of mine is below, but I have extras such as embedded signatures, but you still may get the idea.
Mr @WarrenBelz
Sorry, I still couldn't understand about the flow as I have seen yours and Mr Shane as well, I am still facing some problems and cannot fix it.
Right Now, I have an HTML Text
"<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<style>
Table, th, td {
border: 1px solid black;
}
</style>
</head>
<body>
<h2>PDF Viewer</h2>
<p>This is Drectly From Flow to Export PDF.</p>
<table style='width:800 px'>
<tr>
<th>Date</th>
<th>Task</th>
<th>Time</th>
<th>Status</th>
</tr>"&Concat(CollectTest,"<tr><td>"&Text(Date, ShortDate) &"</td><td>"&Task&"</td><td>"&Text(TimeSlot, ShortTime)&"</td><td>"&Status&"</td></tr>")&"</table>
</body>
</html>"
As Mr Shane used,
Concat expression while creating the File in PDF
like:
Concat(' my html '). when I insert my html it gives me an Error in Flow.
Kindly help
@MH3 ,
You do not need to do anything to your HTML (other than look at my much condensed version which should work fine).
You need to follow the Flow process to send it to OneDrive, Convert it to a PDF and then attach it to an email. I am not a Flow expert - I write them for what I need to do (and I did the one I sent you some time ago), so there are people over at the Power Automate Community who would do this better.
Ok @WarrenBelz ,
I'll ask the Power Automate Community, but can you tell me how you put that (Power App EmailFrom_To in To: Section)
as I am getting just this Function
I would like to have that, if a user Selects the button the flow starts and then they should receive an email.
@MH3 ,
The three pieces at the top are simply "Ask in Power Apps". The file name in mine is different due to what I am doing - you can either use what you have now or also Ask in Power Apps.
Have you written a Flow before?
NO, Sir @WarrenBelz
I haven't wrote a flow before but I have created one but the thing I couldn't set the email flow, when I hardcoded my email it worked but I want the user to be emailed when they click the button to initiate the flow.
I am stuck in two things and the Power Automate community didnt replied till now.
1) I cant set my html in concat function when creating the file in onedrive.
2) I still can't set the Email Action.
ScreenShots:
1) Created a file in html in Onedrive, but One Question: in File Content do I have to take the Ask in PowerApps function or the Concat expression like Concat('html code'). as Mr Shane did like that.
2) Create file 2- another action for saving the file in PDF format,
Lastly the Send Email V2 Action: I did Ask in PowerApps it shows Sendanemail_To. what does that mean? and what should I put in To:?
in the attachments I called the File Content which is in PDF format.
I have tried everything but couldn't do anything and the Code for button have to change that according to this couldn't fix that too.
Thanks @MH3 ,
Firstly if you have not written a Flow before, you really need to take a step back and learn some basics - things will become much clearer to you then.
Here are three good tutorials
Yes, Sir @WarrenBelz
I will surely do that, but have you looked my reply before this I have given you details about my flow and issues, if you could guide me there then I can surely achieve what I wanted. I'm stuck there just wanted to convert my html into PDFand then email to that user who is using the app when he/she pressed the button.
Kindly go through my last reply.
